Except we have a story of Moses getting married in Exodus 2:15-22. So you’re saying we corrupted BOTH stories for literally no reason? This is clearly a massive thorn in the Quran’s side.
Abdul Ahad@AbdulAh28697887

The comparison sounds convincing until you actually read both texts carefully. The Qur’an’s account of Moses in Surah 28 and the Bible’s story of Jacob in Genesis 29 are not the same narrative—they only share a common setting (a well), which was a normal social place in that culture. In fact, the differences are quite clear: the Qur’an mentions two women, while the Bible speaks of one (Rachel); the father in the Qur’an is unnamed, whereas the Bible names Laban; the marriage agreement is 8–10 years in the Qur’an, but 7 + 7 years with deception in the Bible; and importantly, the Qur’an has no deception at all, while deception is central to Jacob’s story. Even the life situations are different—Moses is a fugitive seeking refuge, while Jacob is traveling to family. These are distinct narratives with some shared cultural motifs, not a copied or “mixed-up” story. Wells were common meeting places in ancient times, so similar scenes appear across multiple accounts. From an Islamic perspective, the Qur’an doesn’t aim to retell earlier scriptures word-for-word, but to convey moral lessons—sometimes summarizing or presenting events differently. So this isn’t confusion, it’s a different telling within a shared prophetic tradition.

I used to joke as a Muslim: “God doesn’t have a wife—how can He have a son?” It sounded blasphemous. But no one explained this: In Semitic culture, “son of” doesn’t mean biological. It means identity. Same nature. Son of Man = fully human. Son of God = fully divine. That’s why in John 5:18 they tried to kill Jesus, not for healing, but because calling God His Father meant He was making Himself equal with God. What used to offend me was this: I am messy. Totally human. The idea of a perfect God stepping into my mess felt wrong. Almost humiliating. But I had it backwards. He wasn’t lowering Himself out of weakness. He was stepping down out of love. Because I wasn’t climbing my way to heaven. So, God came down - not as a rulebook, not as religion - but as a Son. As a Savior. God didn’t get married. He revealed His nature. And when I finally saw it, it didn’t make Him smaller or weaker. It made Him infinitely more powerful and beautiful.

The Quran verse that cracked my Islamic foundation: Surah 3:55 This verse addresses the end of Jesus's earthly ministry, where Allah tells him He will "take him," raise him to Himself, and purify him from disbelievers  It reads: “O Jesus, I will take you and raise you to myself.” When I was Muslim, I skimmed that verse. Then it hit me: Raised from what? If Jesus didn’t die, why does he need to be raised? No other prophet is described this way. They died. They were buried. But Jesus? Taken. Raised. Exalted. Declared alive. It follows that, you don’t exalt a backup prophet. You exalt a King. Jesus even says it in John 12:32. And even Islamic theology admits, He’s still alive, coming back to judge the world, called the Messiah… but never explains why. So ask yourself: If God raised Him… what does that say about the cross? The Gospel says He died, was buried, and rose again. And this verse points to the same reality: God did not leave Him in the grave. You don’t raise someone unless they were laid down. You don’t exalt someone who failed. You exalt the one who finished it all.

He sort of has this feeling. It’s hard to shake. It’s not backed up by anything. But it’s a feeling nonetheless. Traitors are everywhere! Somehow, he just knows, even if has no idea who they are, even if he can’t name a single one.

How do we know if something is designed? Let's use an analogy. Imagine you're a caveman. Your whole life has been spent in the wilderness, hunting & gathering. The most technology you've seen is a sharp rock tied to the end of a stick. One day, while venturing out on the plains hunting, you come across a vehicle. You've never seen a vehicle before. Do you conclude the vehicle is intelligently created, or that it's a product of wind & erosion over time? Of course you know the vehicle is intelligently designed. Even with no experience of intelligence designing a vehicle - or anything that complex. You don't need prior experience of intelligence designing something to determine if a thing has been designed. We recognize design by certain features. We see complex, specified functional arrangements (CSFA). The wheels fit in the wheels wells, attached to the axles, that allow the car to move. The doors open and lock, with handles to open them and mechanisms to keep them closed. The windows sit perfectly in their frame to allow viewers to see outside and protect them from the elements. The engine gives the car energy to move. These are complex arrangements of parts, fit together in a specific system, which creates function. In ALL human experience, ALL observed evidence shows that anytime we find a complex, specified functional arrangement, intelligence is the cause. No counter example exists. Since we find complex, specified functional arrangements in Life, the most logical conclusion is that Life was Intelligently Created. Evolution has never been shown to be able to create CSFA. Never observed. In fact, the evidence would suggest that blind natural forces are incapable of producing CSFA. Evolution is impotent to create. Only intelligence can create the systems we see in Life. And quite a remarkable intelligence. Life was Divinely Designed. It's the only logical conclusion.

Moses: “Thus says the Lord.” Joshua: “Thus says the Lord.” Isaiah: “Thus says the Lord.” Jeremiah: “Thus says the Lord.” Ezekiel: “Thus says the Lord.” The prophets pointed to God. They spoke on His behalf: “Thus says the Lord.” But Jesus Christ spoke differently: Jesus did not just speak for God, He spoke with His own authority: “I say to you.”

The human genome contains 750 MB worth of data. Who would believe a 750 MB drive of data came into existence by accident? Recognize that our complex DNA has a brilliant Designer and Programmer. "You knit me together in my mother's womb" (Psalm 139:13).

Proof Life was Created. DNA Replication requires 9 complex nano-machines working together. Without them, DNA can't replicate. If DNA can't replicate, Life can't evolve.
