My husband and kids forgot my birthday one year. Like most moms/wives, I was always the planner for their parties and dinners. So no acknowledgement kind of killed something in me. It was 4 years ago, and now I just put in the bare minimum effort - last minute gift. Last minute cake. I just don’t care anymore.
