The Polish mind cannot comprehend this. In Poland this problem got solved by @InPostPL. These lockers are literally on every corner of each city/town and even village in Poland - you get a QR code and have 48 hours to pick it up after delivery. For bulky parcels, you get a phone number to the delivery guy in the morning and can roughly arrange for the time when they will come drop a parcel at your place.
