In 2024, when SEPTA riders were threatened with massive fare increases and devastating service cuts, I stepped in and redirected $153M to keep the system running and fares affordable. And last year, when SEPTA needed urgent safety upgrades, I authorized $219.9M for emergency repairs to make sure Pennsylvanians who rely on SEPTA every day could do so safely. These actions have bought us time, but Democrats and Republicans MUST come to the table and fund a long-term solution for mass transit. Like you, I’m extremely frustrated it’s not done yet. That's why my latest budget once again calls for sustainable, recurring funding for mass transit. Let’s get it done.
