Halo was best when it didn't have sprint.
Fans old and new like Halo without it.

@desgnatedfuckre @dasadikpala For sure! It's like no one took any risk with design and always tried to keep it safe by stripping away whatever made it particular. Good talk tho fr 👑

@BigChief1337 @dasadikpala oh yea im definitely pro-customizing here, i think it's sad that basically no websites let you change the look of ur page anymore beyond a profile pic & banner, the internet is so boring now lol
English

They never should have done away with this. It really is something super special that makes every page its own.

@zOOpygOOpert It really doesn't have to be though. There was a time where websites totally gave you control in how to configure your whole little page for yourself and YouTube had followed in that trend but just gave it up for minimalism and for phone UI interfaces but idk what complicates it.
English

@BigChief1337 Yeah I agree, but I think with Youtube atleast, it should be determined by subscriber or view count or something
English

Websites removing more customizable pages was honestly kind of a good thing, most people are not graphic designers, most of that shit would just look straight ass, not to mention it would probably not be great for accessibility

English

@penitentrabbit True I remember some accounts totally had God awful pictures lmao but you gotta admit, it at least gave you more reason at that time to actually visit the channel.
English

@BigChief1337 I got into a heated argument with someone once and left a shout on his channel that his tiling jpeg background was ugly and that he should kill himself
English

@dasadikpala @Hazarduous Nah, it wouldn't be because the buttons themselves don't really change or there placement just the way it looks itself. It's purely cosmetic and definitely worked and could work for multiple mediums.
English

@Hazarduous @BigChief1337 Again, the average user wouldn't use it and the problem would persist even if they did. We're talking about straight up unusable or unnecesarily complicated interfaces that change every time you visit another channel. An UI nightmare.
English

@desgnatedfuckre @dasadikpala Maybe lol but it's still better because you're visiting the particular account for the platform and visiting it you're able to see the videos they make "and" their expression for how they want their channel to be perceived as opposed to the platform as a whole projecting. Y'know?
English

@dasadikpala @BigChief1337 the UI elements were still in the same place on every profile, this was all just wallpaper for the background & customer colors for the windows/text
English

@dasadikpala @desgnatedfuckre "Very confusing" I contest because I feel like you can always optimize a user interface for the user experience and what we see today really is just streamed for minimalism.
English

@desgnatedfuckre @BigChief1337 Fair but there were still custom buttons that you could add (in the image there's one that says "Learn More" for & the ones on the right margin). But I remember there were pages with diff to see color palettes and overall amateur design. These would be v confusing to the avg user
English

@dasadikpala @banana_catfish @Hazarduous I agree that the medium can change but there what defines a standard and the most optimal way to interface with a design from one medium to the next depends on the context of the absorption for media. PC's offer one way, phones offer another, therefore requiring two sets.
English

@banana_catfish @Hazarduous @BigChief1337 why do people not understand that technology and design have changed? we have various screens of different sizes now, for starters. it's obvious that people who want this back don't know how a website works nowadays.
English

@banana_catfish @dasadikpala @Hazarduous Not completely but yeah I agree that designers got either lazy or weren't able to express their capacity through what people were able to interface because of how they were dictated to curate the whole User Interface.
English

@dasadikpala @banana_catfish @Hazarduous What's funny is you're assuming the expression of this can only be shown through one medium instead of being configured for other things like phones and stuff.
English

@banana_catfish @Hazarduous @BigChief1337 if your design depends on you only using one kind of device ad infinitum then is it really worthy to begin with
English

@dasadikpala @Hazarduous @BigChief1337 yes
nigga, youtube ditched the annotations and on screen embed because of phones
