Crazy how every all-time great has had a period of dominating against a weak field except one man. Nadal’s entire prime overlapped with the most competitive era tennis has ever seen. Add the injuries on top of that and he still ended up with 22 slams. Unreal.

Holger Rune via IG : “Work in progress”💪😤 Holger is still working very hard to come back, it's progressing well, he's moving much better. I hope his return isn't premature, I trust him and his team.🤍 @holgerrune2003

@OddBugStudio some reason I'm ToI2 I keep taking damage as soon as I reload on the bench after a death. Is this a glitch or is there an intentional mechanic that does this

Zverev has been so consistent this year now 25-7 on the year no titles yet, done ✔️ a great 👍 job of beating the guys ranked below him, he definitely feels under the radar and bang ‼️ he’s in the semis again

@Miguelcmm1 hes not even close to sinners side so his movement could get WAY better with some gym time. His serve positioning allows him to hit better wide angles but weaker T serves i think as well. Agreed tho that he has this tendency to just start spraying the ball for 8 points

@alltennis7 I've only had my eye on him since next gen finals. But even then I got the feeling that his bh was way steadier. And it generally has a higher performance rating

love hearing commentators say "sinner lifting his level" after we watch jodar miss 8+ forehands and jannik have 3 lucky misshits.

@ThreadOrder Two weeks off doesn't mean two weeks of rest, Even with that it doesn't undo all the matches he had played leading up to it. Yeah much more w/o serve volley dominance. But we are also moving towards insane weapons being average

@BigDaddyT2367 Alcaraz had two weeks off since Miami and played a relatively light Monte Carlo campaign. I do agree that it’s more physical now with the ball speed and overall tour depth

Many factors, but I wonder in Alcaraz's case (second time with right arm issues) if the trend in modern racquet specs (lighter and stiffer, with poly strings) + poor quality balls, are stressing the arm muscles more than prior eras. hughclarke.substack.com/p/alcaraz-gets…

Why are so many top tennis players getting injured? 'It’s almost like a crime scene. Who are the suspects? Is it the schedule? The balls? The rackets? The number of night matches? The lack of recovery time? The massive increase in intensity?' thetimes.com/sport/tennis/a…

@ThreadOrder but they don't have weeks off and tennis has become a lot more physical. Mental strain from weeks leaks into the body.

Carlos Alcaraz won’t be able to defend Rome and Roland Garros this year. 💔 Heartbreaking for us and most of all for him, but recovering fully is the most important. Let’s all show him all the support we can ❤️‍🩹🙏
Carlos Alcaraz@carlosalcaraz
