Dude you’re rooting for your own demise and you don’t even know it. We should have no gerrymandering. Nationwide. Our politicians shouldn’t get to divide us as they see fit to serve themselves power. And if you think that what Texas did is legislative good faith, well there’s nothing I can do to help you. Whether this power grab by Abbot and trump will work is yet to be seen. They have redrawn districts to gain political advantage based on the assumption that the Latino vote that trump won in 2024 will hold for state elections in 2026. Since then he has done nothing that he promised them, he’s deported more law abiding members of their communities without due process than criminals, he’s driven inflation and the cost of living through the roof instead of economic relief. He’s started a war that is costing us billions of dollars and their sons and daughters are going to die and be maimed on foreign soil again. If they turn, those seats will not win the Republicans anything, in fact this redistrict will cost them seats. If any party can’t win the votes of their constituents by serving them and instead redistrict to serve themselves, none of us should be rooting for it no matter what party you’re in. Our country has never been more divided, our system more corrupt, our voices have never mattered less to those that hold power. Giving politicians more power and allowing them to divide us may serve you now but the party that yields that power will swing, it always does, it’s a fact and the rules you cheerlead for today will be in the hands of someone you know doesn’t represent your interests tomorrow and then there will be nothing you can do about it. They divide us to conquer us so we serve them, the rich are getting richer while everyone else is paying the price and if you think that is making America great, then you’re just their best victim.
