It was an absolute pleasure listening to @FrankMillerInk share his insights on storytelling tonight in Austin. Hearing that in one of the original drafts of The Dark Knight Returns, Batman was actually going to be gunned down by a hail of bullets was wild. He also talked about Zorro’s influence on Batman, practically giving the character Mexican DNA and reminded us all that the very languages we speak began as pictures. Reminding us that storytelling is a vital function of human survival, right up there with the essentials. Shoutout to @Rodriguez , who was an excellent interviewer. Loved hearing how he convinced Frank to let him direct Sin City by shooting a test scene to prove he was a Texas renegade storyteller, not a Hollywood studio guy, even cutting out the middlemen to get Bruce Willis on board. I can’t wait to experience more of the stories these two incredibly generous storytellers have to tell us and I can’t wait to dive into Push The Wall. Thank you for teaching us. 🙇 #pushthewall

Samhain III November Coming Fire is arguably the best Samhain album & one of Danzig’s best overall. Was missing The Misfits : Earth A.D. from my vinyl collection . Heaviest Misfits album by far and practically proto-Thrash. AFI’s Very Proud of Ya is an absolute East Bay Hardcore gem. Cannibal Corpse : Hammer Smashed Face! THE LAST RONIN : Training Day One of the must read comics of the year in my opinion. Another amazingly written story by Kevin Eastman & @TomWaltz . The montage of training between The Ronin & Casey Marie are absolutely fantastic, packed full of so much fluid ninja action from Ben Bishop, The Escorza Brothers & flashbacks illustrated by Freddie Williams II. This weeks new comic book reads! Lots of Image comics for me this week and rightfully so, they just have some of the best creator owned books in existence right now. Really enjoyed the first issue of Avengers Armageddon so I decided to fully jump into the ongoing event. The Last Ronin: Training Day from IDW is also something I’m really excited to read. How could you not want more lore between The Last Ronin and his apprentice? #ncbd #ReadComics

Just read @robertliefeld’s BADROCK 1 ! I loved this issue. I loved Badrock’s origin story and young Badrock looking forward to Nolan’s The Odyssey movie, hoping Marvel will get their shit together made me roll around in laughter because that’s just so relatable. How the book wraps up really makes me want to continue reading it. It’s a very charming comic with a relatable hero. Awesome interior art by Seth Damoose. Another Liefeld book getting added to my pull list! #BADROCK #ReadComics
