I think I’ve said it before, but start a Go Fund Me, everyone sell a kidney, rob some banks in Murfreesboro, sell your wife’s engagement ring, put panhandlers on every corner in BG, pull out your child’s college fund. Whatever it takes to keep Melo and Teagan in a WKU uniform.

Personally they’d be low on my list of wants. Not sure they’d do what UK fans think they would. I would take both of them. However, I wouldn’t want to spend NIL money on them. If we return our top 3 guards Trent Noah wouldn’t start and TP may not depending on what we do at PG this offseason. Dontaie Allen was just a role guy when he came over. Don’t see much difference in him and Trent Noah.

Winchester has 4 years as an assistant coach, and he’s currently an assistant on a team that is 12-20. I get the love for the WKU connection, but if we were to go on a coaching hunt we could get a much more experienced assistant or lower level D1 coach.

@TheTowelRackWKU I’d like to see WKU let Plona go and hire Anthony Winchester . He will probably get let go as an Asst at Kansas st. Bring in someone to excite fans and he would take it for just as cheap as Plona. If it doesn’t work out we aren’t any worse than we are now. 250k buyout for Plona.

@TheTowelRackWKU The only pass I give him is he did recruit a good center he just got injured. Shows how important depth is and we didn't have anyone behind him that could produce on offense. Need a Rodney Howard/Bassey type down low that can create and score on the block.

I agree, if we can keep Teagan, LJ and Melo then we’ll be set up to build a really good team. Sadly really goods big are hard to get in the NIL world. They come with high price tags. Absolutely have to find a big that can protect the rim and rebound though. I don’t think a back to basket scorer is as important as it use to be. Especially for us with those 3 players doing most of their scoring in the paint. Players never had to fear their shot getting blocked against us.

If we can retain Teagan, Melo and LJ then Hank has a hell of a base to build around. That core could easily average 50+ a game. Would be just adding plug in pieces from there. Number 1 portal get needs to be a guy that can defend in the post and a rebounder. I think every WKU fan agrees with that. Then go look for a spot up shooter (Unseld hasn’t proven he can be that yet) and then a PG. I think LJ or Melo could run the point if needed. I expect Gabe Weis to be an immediate impact guy next year.

@BigRed_Menace Teagan will be back from the info I have received. As for Hank, I’ve been supportive. The end last year was concerning. This year, perhaps more so. It’s hard to explain such lopsided losses we experienced…that weren’t close. It’s likely time to make some staff changes

I think he’d be 23+ppg if he stays. Dont think people notice he shot 42% from 3, just needs to increase his volume next season.

I agree with you. I think he’s a die hard Hilltopper. If he does choose to leave I do think it will be tough on him to make that decision, but if he gets 7 figure offers we can’t really fault him if he leaves.

This was Selebangue’s 6th year of college. It’s certainly possible he is allowed to play another season in this landscape of the NCAA, but I was never counting him as a returner.

Dead serious, there are plenty of better mid major freshman better than him. I agree the potential is through the roof, but big money goes to immediate contributors at most high major. Which is exactly why I think he’d benefit way more by staying at a place he’s going to play a ton. He is very inefficient. He’s not close to what Wooley was last year.

I’ve been one of the biggest advocates for Hank this season. His seat is on fire going into next season. Anything less than a CUSA championship he should be gone imo. I’ve always said 3-4 years to win it or you’re gone. Two first round bounces knocks it down to 3 years imo. If he can’t keep Teagan then idk how he can attain that.
