As a follow-up to my previous post about the tenement constructed on the corner of Haggs Road and Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow by the spirit merchant John Hunter Gilmour. If you look carefully, you can see his initials carved onto the building's facade. #glasgow

If you don't celebrate your own traditions, then you will have to celebrate someone else's traditions. The Norwegian team celebrates the right way and we all love it. The Viking way. But also wearing the Cross of Christ with pride.

Looking west along Parliamentary Rd in 1964. The pub on the corner of Pladda St was the Lemon Tree. There had been a pub there since 1863, and it was named after the proprietor from the 1950s, Richard Lemon. This block was demolished the year this photo was taken. 📷 John Hume

The Pollokshaws Tollhouse, photographed in 1954. Pollokshaws began as an independent weaving settlement to the south of Glasgow in the early c18th. It was an important crossing place of two major roads: the Glasgow to Irvine Road and the Rutherglen to Govan Road. 📷 Newsquest

GERMANY: Police officers were attacked and jumped on by a pack of migrants after trying to arrest one of them for making sexual advances toward a young underage girl in a park in Hamburg. They all rushed in to ‘protect’ their friend. Unbelievable.
