THE DAY I PROVED I WAS ME AND LOST A PIECE OF MYSELF DOING IT.
i remember the first time i did KYC,
i was 19, just found crypto, excited about everything,
someone told me to sign up on binance and i did it without thinking twice,
my informations were asked such as: my full name, date of birth, home address, front of my ID, back of my ID, then a selfie holding the ID next to my face like i was being booked at a police station.
i submitted it all and sat back and thought nothing of it.
but later that night something small and uncomfortable settled in the back of my mind,
where did all of that go?
i didn't know and i dont still know,
somewhere on a server i've never seen, managed by a company i'll never visit, sits a photo of my face next to my government ID, and i put it there willingly, because i wanted access and that was the price.
and the strange part is, that wasn't even the last time,
every new exchange, every new platform, every new app that needed to "verify" me, the same ritual, the same handful of documents, the same quiet feeling of handing over something you can't get back.
we talk a lot in crypto about owning your assets, your wallet, your keys, your money, but nobody talks about the fact that your identity, the most personal thing you own, gets handed to strangers every single time you want to participate.
then i started understanding what @Arcium is building and something shifted in me,
