In art this term, KS1 have been looking at the artist James Rizzi. Today they created their own pieces in Robin and Owl class based on James Rizzi style. Amazing work everyone!
A fond farewell to our lovely Mrs Homer who has worked with so many of the children that have come to Bildeston over the last 19 years! Mrs Homer has promised to pop in on occasion to see us. The children presented her with lovely gifts bought with generous donations received.
Very proud of our year 6's this week. They have been super stars throughout the week working really hard to complete their SATs. Final test was this morning and then it was time to celebrate.
Cupcakes all round! Even bacon rolls this morning for breakfast!
Kingfisher class had an amazing time seeing lots of different things at the School Farm & Country Fair last month. They explored the livestock area and the composting area. They saw lots of baby animals including piglets, calves, and baby goats, even how sausages are made!
We have been making improvements to the school garden. We have been working really hard to transport the stone from the car park to the garden. The project is really beginning to come together! Then we will get planting!
KS2 were very lucky to have Nick Templeton from West Suffolk College in school recently to work with them during their computing lesson. He brought in headsets which the children used to create their own virtual reality. Thank you Nick, we really did enjoy your visits!
This term, KS1 are learning about the Victorians and they learned about all the games that the children would have played at that time. The children enjoyed having a go at playing marbles, hopscotch and making their own puppet show.
All of our children were given a wonderful 'Coronation Bear' as a memento of this wonderful occasion by our PTFA team.
The children were so thrilled to have received their bears!
Thank you so much to our PTFA and the support that they give to the school!
The children really enjoyed our afternoon tea and crown parade for the King's Coronation celebrations. Thank you to all parents for helping the children - everyone looked amazing! The KS1 children enjoyed writing speeches about what they would promise if they were King or Queen!
All of the plants in our front garden have been nurtured by Kestrel class. The flowers in the centre have been laid in the shape of a crown - very fitting for the King's coronation! Our raised bed area in the playground is just awaiting some top soil for us to get planting!
Our reception class designing Coronation cards for @jcartlidgemp competition. Every child has made an entry!
Reception class also had discussions about who King Charles III is and why we he is having a coronation👑
Children in Kingfisher class enjoyed designing and making their own Roman armour. This coincided with their Roman topic for this term - we think they are all going to enjoy it!
Upper KS2 science topic this term is 'Earth and Space' and to enable the children to understand what happens to the moon, the sun and the earth, they actually acted out the process - great practical fun outdoors!
Kestrel class marked the beginning of their Hola Mexico! topic with a visit from @Mexicolore
They had a wonderful time learning about the Maya and the Aztecs. They took part in activities including playing drums, dressing up and joining in a celebration procession.
Our first music lesson with Mr Welham. This week Goldcrest class have been learning about 'Volume'. They played a few musical games to test out what they had learned.
Goldcrest class watched a short extract of 'Country File' where they explained all about what Owl Pellets are and what they might contain. Then the children watched whilst their teacher carefully pulled the pellets apart to reveal their treasures!
