Commendable effort getting this budget through despite the turmoil of local government funding. Comes as no surprise the Tories put forward an undeliverable amendment. For years now they've done nothing but campaign for fictitious promises that they could never implement.

We are part of NATO, and we are fully aware of our country’s strategic location. We also understand that our security depends on good friends and strong alliances. In that context, a respectful and loyal relationship with the United States is very important. That has been the case for decades. But alliances are built on trust. And trust requires respect. Threats, pressure, and talk of annexation have no place between friends. That is not how one speaks to a people who have repeatedly demonstrated responsibility, stability, and loyalty. Enough is enough. No more pressure. No more insinuations. No more fantasies of annexation. We are open to dialogue. We are open to conversations. Rejoining Erasmus is a real opportunity to start repairing the disastrous Conservative Brexit deal. We are pleased the government has finally listened to us on that. However it must be a first step on a clear roadmap to a closer relationship with Europe. Starting with negotiating a bespoke UK-EU customs union, and committing to a youth mobility scheme for benefit of the next generation.

SEND services are broken, leaving children and their families behind. @EdwardJDavey and Lib Dem MPs met with families yesterday to discuss. We demand an immediate CMA investigation to put children first.
