Players I want back for 26-27 Season. Paul Flory Tiller Rosario McDowell Elmarko Calderon Yes, I want everyone back. Continuity is key and many of those players will grow and carry a strong culture for KU. Do not scrap and restart.

@GhostYesufu There’s nothing. I don’t think Vern even has anything real - just heard from people who are also guessing

KU Twitter are the kings of vague posting about Bill Self. My god. Does anyone have anything concrete? Or are we just drumming up drama… again?

@GrantHughesNC Yup. It’s even been rumored already Oats would take the Kansas job.

Not saying Todd Golden would take the #UNC job if offered, but fans at Florida, Alabama, and Michigan need to take quick glances at their own teamsites. There’s more intrigue in the start of spring football practice than an NCAAT push. Basketball means more in Chapel Hill.
Will Thomas@wthomassports

Feels relevant enough to bring this up again: Todd Golden is not going to leave Florida. North Carolina is about to open up when they fire Hubert Davis, and they figure to at least see if Golden picks up the phone. But answer me this: What does UNC have that Florida doesn't? Why is Chapel Hill a better place to win today than Gainesville? Spoiler: it isn't

@KhiMVP @WheelinFieldin People a lot closer to the actual NIL scene - including players like Dickinson/Storr - have said they don’t get paid nearly as much as what is spread online

@k_sahadi Kansas’s first choice would be Hurley… there are exceptions to who you get but the list is likely only 15 teams

@BillSelfMeDad Keep in mind that Bama's first choice was Lanning, who decided to stay put

I don’t think people realize that UNC, KU, Kentucky, and Duke calling you is the equivalent to Alabama, Georgia, and LSU calling you in football. If you become successful enough to land those jobs you take it with some exceptions… look at Lane Kiffin, Kalen DeBoer, etc.
Jayhawk Live@kutweetsandnews

Again, IF Self decides to retire, you make these calls in order. 1. Tommy Lloyd 2. Dustin May 3. Ben McCollum 4. Todd Golden 5. Fred Hoiberg

@AlMcGuiresGhost You say that but the teams still winning haven’t changed that much. The three teams who have won in the NIL era - Florida/UConn/Kansas - have all been winning the past 30 years before NIL. If Arizona wins this year, they won in ‘97. It’s still the same programs

@BillSelfMeDad It worked that way 30 years ago. Not now. Nobody with a great job is leaving to go to another college. You can win anywhere now with a good NIL commitment. Hoiberg and Otz are the level where you begin to have a chance to poach.

@aburks41 Agreed, except I believe Oats is poachable. I don’t think his style is a fit for Kansas though. Golden - there would need to be something crazy.

I think there’s at least 10 programs that are safely in the “unpoachable” tier unless there is some legacy tied to a school like Roy Williams. UK, KU, UConn, UNC, Duke, UCLA, Zona, Nova, Michigan State, Michigan, Louisville etc are all destination jobs. It would be nearly impossible to get a coach to leave any of those schools (assuming they’re having success at their current school). Hurley laughed in the face of Kentucky offering him $100M and then turned down the Lakers lol. I’m not sure they could even pull Oats and Golden away from Bama and Florida

@BillSelfMeDad Problem is man some of these lower jobs without all the expectations and demands are just more appealing. Oats at Bama, Dusty at Michigan like they have ZERO pressure at all there. Hard to bait guys out anymore

@CoryTay36070123 From reports, their top options were DeBoer, Dan Lanning, and Dabo Swinney. Lanning and Swinney are what I mean by “exceptions”… coaches at top rival programs

*With exceptions* was said for a reason. Obviously, we’re not plucking guys like Hurley or Izzo. But guys who have found recent success are certainly going to listen to the opportunity to increase their odds at sustained success
