@Matt_Rodewald As a Class of 91 Central alum, you are correct. But, there are so many Central HS around the state, sometimes it's just easier to add the Burlington to it. And, I was one of the many from the Elgin area.

As a former journalist yourself, I’m sure you will appreciate when I say this. The name of the school is not Burlington Central. It’s Central. It always has been.
In 78 years as a school district, the name Burlington has never been in their name.
Burlington Twp & Plato Center consolidated in the height of the 1940s era of shrinking school districts to protect state funding. They chose Central because the plot of land for the schools where the HS/MS & elementary school now sit is right between both townships. It was ideal at the time.
Today: 85% of the student enrollment has an Elgin address. But only a handful of students come from Burlington. In fact CHS has a post office address in Hampshire. Fun right!?
I’ve got more facts if you’re curious. You could help spread the message of truth. I know that’s what you’re all about.

From Streamwood for 17 years to Burlington Central for 2 years to Grayslake Central for 2 years and Dundee-Crown for 12 years, that’s 33 total years - nearly 400 consecutive months - helping 1,000s of kids, families, schools and communities…on AND off the courts and fields. #MoreThanJUSTGames #IHSA

This has to be Caleb's best game yet. Numbers aren't great, but he is keeping the Bears in the game on his own. #bears

@MattBowen41 Bears special teams caused a lot of this. This is the worst I've seen them in my lifetime.

@espn @AdamSchefter On the roster??? He threw the pitch that White Sox fans had been dreaming about for 86 years, the one that won this team a World Series. Put some respect with his name!

Bobby Jenks, a two-time All-Star pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, who was on the roster when the franchise won the 2005 World Series, died on Friday in Sintra, Portugal, the team announced. spr.ly/60184odGs
