Working people are already being squeezed so much we can barely afford to live our lives. So what benefit does this provide the American working class?

No Israeli officers directing US units. No loss of US sovereign decision-making. It's alliance deepening, not subordination. When people show me an example of the opposite then we can talk. Especially when our military is the more superior in every way.
