Way I see it, it’s always going to be possible. But #NUFC have him tied down on a good contract, there’s desire to extend that deal. Plus the overhanging issue for almost everyone that if they throw the kitchen sink at getting him, they won’t be able to do much else due to PSR.

An EFL rule change brought in this season was designed to protect the European clubs by effectively giving them an 'easy' route through to the last-16. Fitting that Newcastle gave the middle finger to those rules - beating three European sides on their way to lifting the cup.
