here’s something i’m really proud of 🫶 so i've been to 10+ hackathons, most of them during my 3rd year. and it was always a great experience. i didn’t win all of them, but yeah, won most of them. but this time was different. i got the chance to be on the other side, as a jury member. i shared the stage, guided students, and honestly that felt different in the best way. all thanks to @watermelonshHQ 🙌 gonna keep working hard and chasing more W’s this year.

corgi cafe is going to feature in many unicorn companies' orgin stories. 24/7 cafe. free wifi. power outlets. amazing for startups, founders, the terminally online, insomniacs, dreamers, community builders & more. looking @speedrun's legendary upcoming matcha meetups too.... & @colosseum's SF build station for elite builders... IRL is unmatched & increasingly great ROI for those willing to fund cool and intentional IRL encounters.

most networking events are a waste of time but one of my favorite things lately is hosting caffeine & capital at Corgi (@UseCorgi) and founders keep coming back now bc: - no pitch contests, no panels, just chat - real convos with people actually building things - and its the the kind of intros that don't happen on linkedin caffeine & capital is different because the whole point is the conversation, not the headcount next one is april 17, friday 9am. if you're in sf and wanna hang out with builders, you're welcome.

when I first moved to SF, I was shocked by how expensive everything was. $18 for a burrito with guac? $80/month for a gym? Then found some affordable places like Saigon Sandwich $6 for sandwich, $4 Vietnamese coffee. I started keeping a list of actually affordable spots:cheap eats, budget gyms, grocery hacks. That list became BudgetSF. A free, open-source, community-driven map of the cheapest spots in SF. Semantic search powered by @hydra_db and actually get results. Anyone can add a spot. 5 community approvals and it goes live. 50+ spots and counting: budgetsf.vercel.app Know a cheap gem in SF? Add it!!

Being a Muslim founder in Silicon Valley is a specific kind of lonely. You're in rooms where everyone's talking about their YC batch, their angel checks, their network. And you're thinking about how none of your uncles understand what a startup is, how your parents still ask when you're getting a "real job," and how the founder communities you see don't quite feel like they were built for you. You code-switch. You keep your head down. You build. But you build alone. I know because I lived it. That loneliness isn't just uncomfortable, it's expensive. No warm intros to the right investors. No founder friends who understand the specific weight of building something while carrying a community's expectations. No one to call when your fundraise is falling apart during Ramadan. Friday exists because that loneliness shouldn't be the default. 3,000+ Muslim founders, investors, and builders. YC alumni. HF0 fellows. South Park Commons members. Angel investors writing real checks. A community that actually shows up for each other. If you've been building alone, you don't have to. Join our community. fridayhq dot co
