Greetings fellow Ugandans, fellow Africans and especially, the Bazzukulu.   I am sending out this message to, first of all, thank God for giving Maama and myself our wonderful children: Muhoozi (Muogi), Natasha (Kukuru), Patience (Pusi) and Kyaremeera (Kyinini)., protecting them and prospering them.  Secondly, I want to thank Maama for looking after them especially for the years 1981-86 when she was the only parent near them. Thirdly, I salute the children for going through the school systems and branching out successfully in the different fields of life – family, career, etc. Fourthly, I thank the Ugandans and some of the Africans for standing with and supporting our family and Political movement in the various endeavours we have been undertaking with them. On this occasion, on the 24th of April 2026, I want to congratulate Gen. Muhoozi (Muogi) on this 52nd birthday. These children, in particular Muhoozi, were born in the resistance, grew up in the resistance, and, in various ways, have made significant contribution to the resistance. Gen. Muhoozi has made significant contribution to fighting corruption in the Army and increasing the lethality of the UPDF.

When they were young, I used to tease them that they will be earth-shakers because, by some coincidence, they were all born on or near very important historical dates. Muhoozi was born on the 24th of April, 1974 at Ocean Road Hospital in Dar-es-Salaam. Maama had made arrangements with a Dutch lady that was staying in the flat above ours in Kurasini to drive her to hospital when the time for okurumwa (birth pains) came. In the night of the 23rd of April, Maama sent me to call the Dutch friend. The Dutch friend drove her to the Hospital. The following morning, I went to the Hospital and Muhoozi was already born. I spent the day with them and came back to the flat at night. The following morning, I rang comrade SamoraMachel, the Revolutionary leader of the Mozambique Liberation to tell him about our happy family news. He picked the phone, but advised me to ring him another day because on that day he was busy following the great news of the anti-fascist Revolution that was going on in Portugal that led to the collapse of the 500years Portuguese African Empire. Amazing- regarding the double blessings to we the freedom fighters- the 24th and 25th of April, 1974. Natasha was born on the 12th of March 1977 at Moshi Christian Centre Hospital. That is the day in 1984, I departed from our base at Kawumu Luwero on the last external mission to get guns from the late Muammar Gaddaffi. That, eventually decisively contributed to the NRM victory in 1986. Patience was born on the 9th of May,1978, at MuhimbiliHospital- Victory Day in Europe, against Hitler and Kyaremeera was born on the 30th of June, 1980, the same date as the historic independence of Belgian Congo (DRC) IN 1960. I share with our fellow Ugandans and Africans our little jokes in the family. Congratulations Muogi, his wife, children and siblings on this milestone.   Signed: Yoweri K. Museveni Ampa (Grandpa)

Aliko Dangote: I applaud President Museveni for his bold decision to ban the export of unprocessed minerals. I also want to commit to the two presidents here that, with their support for the refinery, we will build a similar one in East Africa like the one we have in Nigeria.

@KakandeAlex Making money off YouTube views is lack of strategy for the business owner. The content should be branding the business that much to make the desired amount. Money from YouTube views is like a tip to a waiter in a hotel. Tip shouldn't be the focus, what the brand becomes should.

As I have always said, If you have a problem with menstrual blood, then just date a man. Women menstruate it is not news. And sometimes, mistakes will happen. If you think this little blood messes up your car, then wait till she has to push a baby out in the car while you are stuck in jam rushing to the hospital, you will see real blood. And if she had a heavy meal before labor begins, Number 2 will actually come out before the baby. So this is nothing lads. As long as you are straight and love women, then terms and conditions apply.😉 abakyala bazira.

So for 2 days we don't have power in Bunga and @UEDCLTD whenever contacted keep promising that they are coming. However, one of their staff is willing to come at a cost of 200k. And since we had refused to pay that, later we called him after enough frustration with the call center, the kamufu says his money has now gone up to 300k. And he is confident that Call Center won't be of help. This kind of customer experience makes one wonder if people ever love their country. @MEMD_Uganda

Some good news amid chaos. AIR CONGO will ply the Entebbe route starting this month. Uganda's exports to DRC have crossed $1B. A direct flight to Kinshasa, a city of 20M people, presents an opportunity for Uganda's milk, coffee, fish, fruits, vegetables, and bananas!

I was fortunate to have someone who held my hand when my income was rising faster than my wisdom. Today, I extend the same to others. If you want to move from hoping to own a home to actively positioning yourself for it. I am open to mentoring and walking that journey with you.

This is the story of how I cleared a 10-year mortgage in 2 years In the year 2000, I signed for my first mortgage KSh 2.7 million, repayable over ten years, with a monthly installment of about KSh 37,000. At the time, it felt significant but manageable. Like many young professionals, I believed the difficult part was getting approved. Once the bank said yes, I was ready to sit back and relax knowing that in 10 years i will be a home owner. That is what traps most people. When many people secure a mortgage, they celebrate the approval rather than confront the obligation. They upgrade furniture, expand their lifestyle, and slowly adjust their expenses until the monthly payment blends into routine existence. Ten years quietly becomes normal. The loan stops feeling temporary and starts feeling permanent. I had a mentor who refused to let that happen. Stewart Henderson, who was serving as CEO of Old Mutual at the time told me something that permanently changed my understanding of debt: a mortgage is not a commitment it is an emergency. Then he introduced a rule that, at the time, felt extreme. Every month I earned commissions, I had to bring my statement to him before spending any money. We would sit down together and allocate it. The bank required KSh 37,000. Stewart ignored that number. Instead, he focused on capacity. Whenever income rose, payments rose. Whenever earnings improved, we attacked the loan. He called it 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, treating debt as something to eliminate quickly rather than manage comfortably. The first few months were uncomfortable. The natural instinct after earning more money is to reward yourself. Income creates a feeling of entitlement to enjoy what you worked hard for. But discipline does not negotiate with feelings. Every additional shilling was assigned before it reached my pocket. Something surprising happened. As my income grew, but my lifestyle did not. Because expenses stayed controlled, every increase in earnings accelerated repayment. The balance started shrinking visibly not yearly, but monthly. What had been structured as a ten-year obligation began to feel temporary. Two years later, I made the final payment. Now here’s the surprise, after I serviced the mortgage to completion, my mentor did not congratulate late me. He simply told me to start looking for the next property. Most people follow a familiar sequence: earn, spend, then save what remains. I learned to earn, allocate, then live on the balance. The house was not paid off by income alone; it was paid off by priority. Over the years, advising many individuals, I have noticed a consistent pattern. Nearly everyone wants financial freedom eventually, but very few accept financial discipline immediately. The distance between the two is not measured in years it is measured in habits. Your path does not have to begin with a mortgage. In fact, for many people the smarter starting point is elsewhere, structured savings & investments, or disciplined accumulation strategies that eventually position you for homeownership without pressure.
