@akuareindorf @EHRC So called "ignorance" would be bliss. What you suggest, is needless segregation, and othering of trans individuals. There is no such thing, as a single sex space. No one is capable of determining sex on the spot, or creating a reasonable necessary attribute for exclusion.

It's atrocious that trans ppl were misled about their rights for 10yrs+. It's irresponsible to continue misleading them, even if only through sheer ignorance. The @EHRC Code isn't new rules or law (and isn't in draft). Nothing has changed. The law is the law and sex means sex.

I've had an idea. Hear me out. Y'know how men are responsible for 99% of all sexual crimes, all rapes, 93% of all murders, 90% of violent crime & 85% of all domestic abuse? A sexual assault happens every 35 seconds. 75% of survivors still suffer from PTSD a month later. 50% a year later. How about, in facilities where women are vulnerable, we have separate male's & female's? Nobody would object to that surely?

Follow the logic. Women are deluded and naive for thinking predatory and violent men can be kept out of women-only spaces. ‘They can rape you anywhere.’ However, trans-identified men can only be safe in women-only spaces, because no abuser would ever follow them in there.

This whole toilet thing really grates on me. It is not difficult to find single occupancy, most commonly, unisex toilets in the UK. I have been using these exclusively for the past 2 decades, before and after transition. My bodily autonomy and ability to use synthetic hormones to augment my body as I see fit leaves me with the responsibility to navigate society in a respectful manner. If you are unaware of what you will face after “transitioning” then you shouldn’t be taking the drugs or having the surgeries. If you haven’t thought about all the consequences of your own actions you shouldn’t be prescribed anything. If you haven’t done enough inner searching to come out the other side strong enough to take what will inevitably get thrown at you then DON’T DO IT. Further to that if you do not want to deal with the backlash after you have started the process, shut up, sit down and stop making your entire being about being a flag waving, justice warrior for a cause that has been manufactured by (mostly) men to claim victimhood and regain power in a society that was slowly being pried from their fingertips

50% of trans people were born as male, and 50% born as female. Transphobes ignore Trans men, but obsess over trans women using women’s toilets. Both sets of people are being negatively stigmatised by this ruling. In fact, toilets are about to become more confusing and hostile than ever. No one wins.
