@Nationals Relief pitchers are so bad defensively, this should be a more common strategy in late innings

@WhityRemarks I don't understand it either. Don't want to watch from far away? Watch on TV. Not hard.
Even the "floor" seats are bad because they're on the field.
Like you said - in an NBA arena these tickets would be thousands of dollars easy. People don't think.
English

I really don't like/understand these takes. It's the biggest stage the sport has and it's awesome. They offer several hundred seats to students for $40.
tickets are still stupid expensive but if the games were played in Gainbridge tickets would cost over $5k
The Degenerates@degen_betting
It’s never gonna happen, but we need to get back to playing the Final Four in actual basketball arenas. The most important games of the season weren’t meant to be played in 70,000 seat palaces.
English

@Retire55JP @Serrano_Sports Yeah. Football players are on average at the 50 yard line. Basketball players on average at half court. Same spot. Football players are closer sometimes, but also much farther away sometimes.
English

@BioPharmGuy @Serrano_Sports A basketball court, typically measuring 94x50 feet, can comfortably fit within a 360x160 foot football field, with space for over 10 courts
English

@flippin_2 @Serrano_Sports I was referring to capacity of the place. NBA arenas hold about 18,000. If you don't empty it between games, all four fanbases compete for the same 18,000 tickets.
A football stadium solves that problem at the expense of viewing quality. Lucas Oil holds ~70,000 for basketball.
English

@BioPharmGuy @Serrano_Sports Not true. The NCAA could easily allocate tickets to the schools separate from general admission but that would require the NC2A to be competent so yea prolly untenable
English

@MySportsUpdate @JoelAErickson Forget the second bye week. We don't need a late February Super Bowl. Just mandate that every player is only allowed to appear in 17 games. Teams can figure out when to rest each player. Every player gets an extra bye week.
English

#Colts owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon would like to see the NFL go to an 18th regular season game, via @JoelAErickson:
“I think, as long as the players want it—which I think they would, because it would mean more revenue and, ultimately, a better product—I think it’s reasonable and something we should work toward.”

@PaigeSully88 @AlecGaffney Having worked at the FDA in 2009, I can tell you with 100% certainty you are wrong.
I will say, inspections overseas were even *more* lax back then and they had to be announced weeks in advance so the bad actors had time to clean things up. It was crazy.
English

@BioPharmGuy @AlecGaffney You know up until 15 years ago, I believe we did not allow any of our pharmaceuticals to be manufactured overseas and guess what they were cheaper.
English

@PaigeSully88 @AlecGaffney Yes. That is the answer. The economics do not work in America. Unless, like I said, you want to pay $300 out of pocket for a course of antibiotics.
English

@BioPharmGuy @AlecGaffney Oh yeah, so the answer is keep having our medication‘s built in dirty labs in India. Since it’s the lawmakers that I’ve made it so that prices are that high, it’s their problem to solve.
English

@PaigeSully88 @AlecGaffney Because Americans don't like to pay $300 for a course of generic antibiotics. Whenever you're ready to do that, let your lawmakers know.
English

@AlecGaffney I'm here for it. As an FDA investigator, I once snapped a photo of a tree growing *through* a window, in the winter, in Detroit, MI.

@Mikeshorington @mtylermartin @JomboyMedia The teams from random countries like Italy don't have budgets for super nice hotels. I don't know about Houston, but in Miami they stay at good hotels, just not ultra expensive. I'm guessing the USA team is staying at a top notch place in Houston.
English

@mtylermartin @JomboyMedia Yea, I was wondering the same thing?? Like why emphasize I need a room key to Bobby Witt Jr? One explanation is that everyone knows Bobby has the good stuff in his hotel room and people are competing for an invitation.. still weird to say in a post game interview

@noahtrister @TroyMachir It's just a re-seeded bracket. Not that crazy.
English

@TroyMachir I can't figure out what they're trying to do here. I guess they want byes for high seeds but also want as many teams as possible to get an extra home game with the revenue that comes with it?
English

Look at this beautiful disaster of a conference tournament bracket.
Love you, @HorizonLeague
