Is there an analogy to be drawn between decriminalising women who end their own pregnancies and decriminalising suicide? In both cases assistance remains a criminalised. Significant differences is the act, motivation etc.

@garycox01 @Docstockk So, either not a criteria of personhood or pigs are also persons? All that is required for capacity to feel and suffer is sentience. Don’t need personhood for that. I don’t think Singer has much of to do with any particular concept of personhood. He recognises diff. capacities.

@BioethicsUK @Docstockk Limited of course, far less of a person than a pig, but some capacity to feel and suffer, which is why 24 weeks is often the line. I was influenced by Singer's distinction between human and person, moral relevance pertaining to personhood not species membership.

care/science journals (why????) -- can be incredibly frustrating. I really don't think my work on the ethics of human extinction has any place in contemporary philosophy.

I sent a paper of mine to an Oxford philosophy prof earlier this year, and he *loved it*. Told me I should submit it without edits, and that he'd be citing it in future papers of his. So, I submitted to an ethics journal -- desk rejection. I submitted it to another journal, and
