👨🎓 IMDEA Materials would like to congratulate researcher @s_wahaaj who successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on “Bioabsorbable composite laminates of PLA reinforced with surface-modified Mg wires for orthopedic implant applications” at the @uc3m yesterday! @ciencia_uc3m

On Monday I presented my work on #degradation of #bioresorbable #braided #stents at #ESB2023 in Maastricht. It's always great to attend this conference and experience what other scientists are working on. Looking for ESB2024 in Edinburgh next year!

Delighted that our @HorizonEU @MSCActions Doctoral Network "BIOMEND" has been funded to develop novel biodegradable metallic endovascular implants. We will work closely with MeotecGmbh and @ImdeaMaterials from @BioimplantITN, joined by many new partners across Europe!

Well done to Dr Martina Bernini on the successful defence of her PhD thesis today!! Thanks to @PeterMcHughNUIG and Prof Silvia Schievano of @UCL for examining her thesis on the biomechanics on Ni-Ti stents for peripheral applications, as part of the @MSCActions @BioimplantITN👏

Well done to Dr. Kerstin Van Gaalen on the successful defence of her PhD thesis today! Thanks to @Eoin_McEvoy and Prof Dario Gastaldi of POLIMI for a great viva examination. Kerstin's PhD was part of the @MSCActions @BioimplantITN network in collaboration with Meotec Gmbh!

Congratulations to Lison Rocher for passing her viva! Highly successful biomedical engineer with an exciting career ahead! #nibes #biomedical #engineering

PAPER OUT! 📝 My first paper as a first author is finally out! 😄 To know more on manufacturing and characterization of #bioresorbable #braided #stent follow the link below! The article is free to download for the next 50 days! @BioimplantITN authors.elsevier.com/c/1gABZ6EHNel2…

I'm happy to announce that last Friday I successfully defended my PhD thesis "Sterilization and Post-Processing of Bioresorbable Polymers for Cardiovascular Stent Applications" Thank you to my supervisors, the @BioimplantITN and everyone at @bostonsci for this great experience!

Well done to Kerstin Van Gaalen on publishing her latest paper in @BioactiveMat - this study links the role of pitting corrosion on mechanical performance of biodegradable magnesium implants - a collaboration with Meotec Gmbh on the @BioimplantITN sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
