By following GUV growth and bud size in real-time, it is possible to determine the changes in reduced volume (v) and spontaneous curvature (m) and locate the growing vesicles in the shape diagram, with flip flop resulting in a milder increase in m for a given v.

@BiophysLira Presumably yes. Fluorescent dextrans were encapulated inside of a mother, and daughters also showed the fluorescence. If multilamellar, outermost bilayer would grow and be peeled off, and the fluoresence encapsulated by innermost bilayer would not be distribute in daughters.

I made an amazing discovery!!! It's a cascade division mechanism of lipid vesicles, which I named "Osmotic Spawning". A single mother vesicle spontaneously produces 30-300 daughter vesicles. Check out my first corresponding author paper! pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art… (1/2)
