I remember the days when parties outlined their policies in a manifesto so that the public knew their intentions when voting. Any new policies would be debated in parliament and voted on. These days it seems you get your foot in the door and then do whatever the fuck you like.
Ming Campbell was a dedicated public servant and a true Liberal giant.
His principled leadership opposing the Iraq War was a mark of his morality, courage and wisdom.
But more than that, he was an incredibly warm and caring friend and colleague.
We will miss him terribly.
