@thepenGW Watched it on TV. Most of the game you could hear wee kids in the background shouting his name when he was sitting on the sidelines. Great

@Biscuits_9 Absolutely. He was the man in demand last night but he signed as much and took as many pictures as he could. Just really privileged that Josh got a bit of special treatment from him.

Thank you Siya Kolisi for making this wee fellas year, never mind night. Signed his shirt, picked him up for a picture and gave him one of his sleeves. Siya kept thanking him for his support. One of our greatest nights with one of the greatest players and men you could meet.

@FRugbyGeek 430, so not awful. Though suffered from super-sub Marcus Smith's point tally if 0 being tripled to a grand total of.... 0

@JPEGMacDonald @jaredwright17 His is true although the emergence of TJ and Dobie (realise it doesn't apply in this case) does seem set up for a 6-2, given we struggle in the power game up front and out backs generally up to scratch in terms of threat

For the first time this Six Nations. Scotland's bench makes sense.

@rugby_ap Agree balance is wrong. Not sure they are all brilliant in their own right.... Today I wasn't sure of the specific jobs each of them were meant to be doing, but if you have 3 open sides might have to pick your horse And lack of Chessum's usual gnarliness today

Been said but England’s back row balance is waaay off. Three opensides in the back row. Each excellent players in their own right but none really excel at carrying into the teeth of the defence. So you lack that impetus. And it’s not coming from their locks either.

@ScotRugbyBlog It has to be embracing the younger players on the whole. Dobie is wonderful, but maybe hasn't had the opportunities he has had for Glasgow. Straight swap for Darcy. GG has been a wonderful servant. But time for Brown / Craig etc. Fagerson over Bradbury for now

If Dobie is injured, you probably bring Darcy in. Replacing Ritchie? Move Brown to 6, Gilchrist to the bench and Williamson starts. Replacing Dempsey would be the hardest one.

@ScotRugbyBlog There was a bit of dog today. Sione and Ritchie chatting away at every break, winding them up. But most importantly also backing up the chat!

@JLyall93 All the talk of the air battle beforehand... Turns out England's backs didn't actually have a plan B. They don't have much guild and craft. Steyn in particular defused them, then there was little imagination. I saw that as a big fan of Ford at 10. But little attacking identity

This team is maddeningly brilliant. Dominant everywhere but the scrum - notably so in the air. England's 12 and 0 juggernaut derailed spectacularly. Built intricate attack, feasted on mistakes and, for a change, seized opportunities when they had momentum. Time to back it up.

@talkMacca The game management last week was awful. Even late on today it was poor (take the 3 to go 20 ahead!) The weather last week was the same for both teams, but Italy played it much more smartly. Build a lead and defended. We declined easy points and then the heavens opened

I'm sorry, this CANNOT be the same team who played against Italy last weekend. How is this possible? This is why Scotland fans get wound up, far too much difference between the high points and the low points

@jaredwright17 I broadly agree. It wasn't the worst head-on-head we have seen, of course not. But can't referee a smaller guy differently from bigger guys And I think most fans could pick out cards against their team where a massive guy couldn't get out the way but crucially also didn't dip

@rugby_ap Been making this very point at half time. However... England may discover that not having back cover on the bench is also an issue! Let's see how hybrid the hybrid players are

Richie clutching his knee. Luckily given every coach knows the abrasive nature of rugby these days Scotland have 6 on the bench so will have ample coverage.

@Tom_Courtney_7 @Scotlandteam It's bonkers. He's the coach and we can debate players starting and benched and dropped etc, but the issue here is the actual composition of the bench doesn't make sense.

@Scotlandteam From an English perspective, it feels so mad seeing Hastings on the bench. You’re not going to take Russell off unless he’s injured, Tom Jordan covers 10, you could put an extra forward in to counter England’s 6-2 or go for an impact sub like Kinghorn on VDM

I'm 48 (I know I look older f'off). But this is the most competitive men's test rugby has ever been. Everyone in the top 8 can essentially beat everyone else. It's never been like this previously.

@ek_rugby Benefit of him spending lots of time at full-back as well? I'm a scrum-half but played a bit of full-back as well, always got bored out on the wing compared to 9 and 15! Need to go find the ball 😂

Any winger scoring a hat trick is impressive. Max Spring scoring one down the left wing, one down the middle, and one down the right tells it's own story too though. Wingers who work off their wing, and have a high work-rate, can be very valuable.
