@BismutoLab Congratulations to you both! 🥳
This is truly special!

@CamposGroup Congrats Jesus!! Great work! There is still a lot to be done with MG and light! 💡

Excited to share our last work 🥳🥳🥳. A photoexcited triplet Ge that lasts hours and, while being there, breaks a few molecules, including benzene. We hope you like it. Our feeling: there's plenty of space for discovery on low-valent MG photochemistry nature.com/articles/s4155…

From Sb and Bi to Germanium… congrats to Sangita André, Prasenjit and Celine. Big thanks to Toni and Rosa for the collaboration

I am proud to be a recipient of this year's RSC Chem Comm Emerging Investigator Lectureship!
This recognizes the hard work and creativity of group members over the last few years both @DalhousieU Chemistry and @ChemistryatUVic !

Check out our latest publication in @angew_chem where we show that the infamous V shape in the substituent effects in the thermal isomerization of azobenzenes comes from a single nonadiabatic mechanism 🔥 and not a mix of two.

@BismutoLab @JACS Thanks mate, hope to see you at EWPC later this year?

📣Our new paper is out in @JACS (our very first one)!🥳
We show how a redox-active ligand unlocks C–X bond scission at an ambiphilic T-shaped Bi(III) compound. A big collaborative effort with my brilliant colleagues from Berlin.

🎁HBT Herbert W. Roesky who turns 90 today. He studied chemistry at the University of Goettingen @uniGoettingen from 1957 onwards and earned his PhD in 1963 for work with Oskar Glemser on the high pressure #fluorination of metals. After a postdoc with Earl Muetterties in the legendary Du Pont Laboratories in Wilmington, DE/USA he did his habilitation in record time in Göttingen in 1967. In 1971 he became Professor of #InorganicChemistry at the Goethe University Frankfurt, and in 1980 he returned to his Alma Mater in Goettingen where he remained ever since and discovered numerous inorganic compounds, reactions and mechanisms until very recently—see a 2025 publication on Si and Ge chemistry in Chem. Comm. Main group elements and transition metals were researched in his group regardless whether the products were #organometallics or #CoordinationCompounds. Herbert Roesky could entertain huge audiences with experimental lectures, and based on those he published books like “Spectacular Chemical Experiments” in order to popularize chemistry. The Christel and Herbert W. Roesky Foundation promotes main group chemistry through a biannual Award. He himself was honored through numerous awards, honorary degrees, and memberships in academies and learned societies; the highest award of the GDCh @GDCh_aktuell, the Honorary Membership he received in 2021.

Thanks for the amazing conference!! Fantastic organisation and scientific discussion!
Main-Group Elements Reactivity Conference 2@MGERC_Unamur
to start the day 3, we have the first plenary lecture by @BismutoLab from @UniBonn . He will be showing us what happens when we shine light on dipnictenes. Fascinating right, enjoy!
