At BitBiashara, we are exploring practical alternatives that help businesses keep more of what they earn. Through Bitcoin and a local circular economy, we are working toward a future where merchants can receive payments, save, and transact with fewer intermediaries and lower costs. We're on a mission to make Bitcoin simple, relatable, and useful — especially at the grassroots level. Our goal is to build circular economies that empower people directly where they are. The goal of introducing money education to kids is simple: give them the understanding our generation never got at their age. A 9-year-old explained what money is, what it can do, what it can be, and even recognised Bitcoin as a form of money... that's proof it's working. 🧡

Last week's Bitbiashara Coffee Hangout was one for the books. ☕₿ After our usual wellness and progress check-in, we explored Bitcoin through a fun set of educational cards that @mpumwiredith from Uganda shared with us during the @btcnairobi_conf The best part? One of our community members showed up with fresh avocados for sale... and accepted sats. 🥑⚡ That's what @BitBiashara is all about—learning, building relationships, and putting #Bitcoin into everyday use. Yesterday in our @MyFirstBitcoin_ Bitcoin for Juniors class, we explored what makes a good store of value. We explored bread and ruled it out... so we ate it. 😅🍞 Then we asked: If a grandma saved KSh 1 she earned in the 1980s and spent it in 2026, what could it buy?

Someone asked what we hope to achieve through our dance sessions. The answer is simple: fun. But beyond the fun, we create space to release pent-up frustrations, let go of stored-up energy, and reconnect with ourselves. Sometimes the stress, anxiety, and emotions we carry show up as bad moods or reactions to small things. Dance gives us permission to move, laugh, breathe, and let it all out. We leave lighter, happier, and more connected as a community than when we arrived.

Yesterday's Coffee Hangout was all about reflection and debriefing after the recent @btcnairobi_conf experience. We shared what we learned, how we felt going in, and how we came out on the other side. One member said their limiting mindset is gone. Another shared that they arrived with anxiety but found the energy and welcome so overwhelming that they quickly felt at home. Someone else realized just how much work our community still has ahead of us if we are to grow even further. As for our founder, one lesson stood out above all: unlike traditional financial systems, Bitcoin doesn't care about your background, status, education, or who you know. It meets everyone equally. We also spent some time testing the updated @blinkbtc . The new receipt feature is really cool and makes transactions feel more tangible and easier to share. But one question came up almost immediately from our community: where do we find the transaction history? Sometimes the greatest value of attending a conference isn't what happens on stage—it's the transformation, conversations, and questions that continue long after we get back home.
