What started a few months ago as a simple idea is now coming all together 🚀. @osguildHQ is focused on helping people get into free and open-source software the right way, with discipline, real contributions, and long-term thinking especially within the #Bitcoin ecosystem. Over the past weeks, I’ve been connecting with experienced contributors to strengthen how we build and contribute in this AI era. In the coming days, we’ll be hosting sessions with experts to guide anyone interested in open source and the opportunities it offers. If you’re serious about learning, contributing, and growing in open source, this is for you. Join the guild: osguild.dev

Lovely to see one of our alumni doing amazing work and receiving funding in this round. 🫡🧡 We’re also excited to see more Africans getting recognized and funded by international organizations supporting Bitcoin open-source development. The talent is here, and it’s great to see it being supported.

Nostr is becoming one of the most powerful freedom and communication protocols. But integrating Nostr authentication into applications can still be difficult. Many startups want to support Nostr identities but struggle with the different layers involved. For many teams the integration is heavier than it should be. A new idea from @eznix86 explores a simpler path: a stateless Nostr auth server designed to enable cross-service identity. Today Nostr identity is often tightly coupled to relay infrastructure. This approach separates authentication from relays and turns it into a universal identity gateway for Nostr keys. Services only need to verify a proof instead of implementing the full Nostr authentication flow themselves. The goal is simple: make Nostr authentication easy enough that apps can integrate it without friction. A useful comparison: • zkLogin proves “I am authenticated by Google” without revealing the Google account, OAuth token, or session.
• Nostr proves “I control this key.” One is privacy-preserving identity built on Web2 providers.
The other is pure self-sovereign identity. This stateless auth server focuses on making that self-sovereign identity easier for applications to adopt. You can try it here: demo-nostr-auth.brunobernard.dev Integration is already straightforward and works with tools such as NIP-07 browser extensions and NostrConnect. The goal is to keep reducing friction so that any service can support Nostr identity quickly. This project is still under construction and we are actively looking for feedback from the community. If you build on Nostr, your input is valuable. The aim is to refine this approach until Nostr authentication becomes seamless for any application. What makes this even more meaningful is that this work is coming from builders in Mauritius, a small island in the Indian Ocean, showing that serious open protocol development can emerge from anywhere. The project is fully open source. Repository: github.com/eznix86/nostr-… Feedback and suggestions are welcome. The objective is simple: make Nostr authentication universal and easy for the next generation of applications.

As the Btrust Builders program continues to grow, we’ve learned that scale should never come at the cost of quality or faculty well‑being. That’s why our 2026 pathways introduce a new hybrid engagement model designed to serve more developers without compromising the learning experience. In 2026, each pathway runs in two formats: a high‑touch live cohort and an open self‑paced track. This approach allows us to combine structure and flexibility, giving every developer a way to learn that fits their experience, schedule, and goals. 🧵👇

It feels incomplete to talk about Bitcoin without understanding the cryptography that secures it. Elliptic curve cryptography, SHA-256, and Base58 are not abstract concepts they are the mathematical foundations of ownership, integrity, and trustlessness in Bitcoin. The deeper you understand them, the clearer the entire system becomes. Grateful for the continued support from @btrustteam in strengthening our local BitDevs Mauritius builder community.

This season we take a focused dive into the cryptographic foundations that secure Bitcoin at the protocol level. And is designed for builders who want to understand how hashing, signatures, and encoding mechanisms protect ownership and consensus. RSVP: clooza.com/events/BITDEVS…

This year, I’ve taken the initiative to build something meaningful, starting with a community of open-source contributors. Many see AI as a threat to open source, and in some ways that’s valid. But AI can also be a powerful tool to strengthen open-source development when used with precision. If you’re interested in FOSS and want to build, learn, and contribute, join me let’s make OS meaningful ⛩️

Open source contribution demands structure, discipline. @osguildHQ is built as a structured layer that guides developers toward responsible and meaningful participation in FOSS, particularly at a time when AI makes code generation easy but contribution practices remain essential

In 2025, we took a major step forward in strengthening Africa’s Bitcoin developer pipeline through the Btrust Builders program. Over the course of the year, 493 developers across Africa and beyond were supported through Builders pathways, selected from 1,800+ applications, a 180% increase from the previous year. Developers joined from 15+ countries, spanning West, East, Central, and Southern Africa, with additional participation from South America, Europe, and South Asia. We’ve shared what worked, what we learned, and how Builders has grown into a long‑term contributor pipeline helping decentralize Bitcoin development. Learn more here: x.com/i/status/20160…

We’re excited to be back at @abcptza for the third year in a row and proud to return as a sponsor. 🚀 @Murugi___ and @dzeg5 will be on the ground in Cape Town 🇿🇦, speaking at the conference and sharing more about the work we’ve been doing at Btrust. We’re looking forward to reconnecting with the community, meeting new builders, and continuing the conversation around building a more sustainable and decentralized future for Bitcoin. See you soon! #abct26

We also took a special moment to celebrate @ihate1999 and officially welcome him to the office of the CEO. Abubakar has led Btrust through a period of deep growth and transformation, anchored in a strong commitment to our mission. Under his leadership, Btrust has moved from laying early groundwork to executing at scale, expanding our programs, launching new partnerships, growing our developer reach, improving how we review and deliver grants, and refining our internal systems and team structure. #BtrustGalaDinner

On day two, we had @TChileta, a Btrust‑supported open‑source contributor to @BtcpayServer, leading an in‑depth exploration of the platform’s plugin ecosystem. He walked through how plugins unlock tools that go far beyond simple payments, adding features like e‑commerce integrations, ticketing, on/off ramps, Lightning support, and other utilities that help merchants and entrepreneurs operate more efficiently. His session gave attendees practical ideas for how these capabilities can be applied to real‑world businesses, expanding Bitcoin’s utility in commerce. #ABC25 #ABC2025
