Exactly 10 years ago the SPAR in Arnhem was the first major brand super market to accept bitcoin worldwide. 🎉
You can still pay with bitcoin there today but only over lightning now 😉

Basically Bitcoin chugged through enough transactions to make spammers run out of money. Meanwhile, mainly due to Lightning, even people who used Bitcoin for day to day payments weren't significantly affected, and running a fully verifying node is still cheap and easy.

The owner of our favorite beerstore (De Hoppenaar) has now also opened a café (Proeflokaal) in which he naturally also accepts #bitcoin. For the locals: It's where the Irish pub "Pegasus" used to be. They have an insane amount of specialty beers to choose from!
