The Bitcoin Office
@bitcoinofficesv
The National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC) of El Salvador under President @nayibbukele | MOTTO: excellence only

Literally the FIRST thing I see after getting off my flight in Las Vegas is slot machines in the airport 😂 I’m honored to be moderating a panel at the world’s biggest Bitcoin Conference, but wow. This city really is the symbol of the high time preference fiat “casino gulag”

Im sitting here at the airport, reflecting on the @sovaisv summit and can’t help but think, what an event! Honestly, I’ve only now fully recovered and am processing everything. It might be the most intense work I’ve done since being here in El Salvador. But in the best way possible. I had the opportunity to sit down for about a dozen interviews and podcasts with builders on the ground and speakers at the summit. The logistics alone were a job in themselves. Then stack two full days of back-to-back conversations, and the pressure of being at the National Palace, and the caliber of people I was speaking to… This one pushed me to my limits. By the end, I was exhausted. But during it all, I was on fire. 🔥 And I’ll tell you why. First, the people. If you really are the average of those around you, then these two days leveled me up. El Salvador isn’t just home to incredible people. It’s also attracting top talent from all over. Everyone from big players to independent entrepreneurs, these are people with real vision. Hearing their stories, their optimism, their insights… that energy is contagious and it carried me through every conversation. Second, the signal. You have a government actively investing in its people and its future by embracing technological progress. Hosting Bitcoin and AI events inside the National Palace isn’t random. It’s a statement. The symbolism is the message. This country isn’t waiting around. It’s positioning itself to lead the world in this new digital revolution. El Salvador is being built for the future. Third, the environment. The National Palace is something else. History. Detail. Beauty. You step into a place like that and it raises your standard. It reminds you that excellence isn’t optional, it’s expected. The level of detail put into the decor of summit, the atmosphere… it was incredible. It makes something very clear. Beauty matters. The revitalization of Centro Histórico is going to pay dividends far beyond aesthetics. Being in that setting filled me with inspiration and It’s also impacting how people feel about their country. What I mean is this wasn’t just an event for elites. Yes, there were ambassadors, military officials, CEOs, and thought leaders. But there were also everyday people. And a lot of young Salvadorans. Some on my own team. For a couple of them, it was their first time ever stepping inside the National Palace. Watching them take it in, seeing that sense of pride kick in… realizing they are living through a pivotal moment in their country’s history… and they’re taking part in it, that’s hard to put into words. But it was powerful. It gave me even more conviction in the direction this country is heading. El Salvador has decided to put itself on a path to abundance and its bringing its people with them. Just want to say a big thank you to @sovaisv and the entire team for putting this together. Thank you Stacy, Max, and Jethro for the opportunity. And respect to @nayibbukele for continuing to pave the way toward prosperity. Interviews coming soon. Follow @BuildInES to stay connected. 🙌🏼

EL SALVADOR AI STRATEGY IN 2024: "Not incremental ... It was much more ambitious than that." A great (very long) read from Camila Cruz about the reason to build. She covers some of our early efforts to lay the foundation for our AI strategy in El Salvador. (Link in replies)
