Lately, I have been moved to get my thoughts out and see how aligned my path is... Recently, I began sharing them in private.. I'd like to share a topic I feel needs to be addressed, with all of you... Thank you in advance for taking the time to digest it 🙏 DISCIPLINE OVER DOPAMINE 🪶 We are not at war with a physical enemy! We are at war with disorder. The modern world doesn't conquer men with iron chains anymore. It conquers them with stimulation, a digital collar. Scroll. Swipe. Indulge. React. Repeat. A man who lives for stimulation to increase motivation can't stand in his calling, let alone fulfill his purpose. Dopamine is not evil — it is designed by God. But when reward precedes obedience, disorder enters the soul. You and I were not built to chase impulses. You and I were built to govern them. “Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.” — Proverbs-25:28 Without discipline there is no focus. With fractured focus, there is weak resolve. Prayer weakens. Temptation strengthens, and this is where we expose ourselves and start going down the slippery slope of sin. The enemy does not need you immoral. He needs you distracted. The Diagnosis... Many men today are not rebellious or lost. They are overstimulated. They aren't tired from physical labor — but from 'excessive bandwidth use'.. and pleasure without discipline produces: Fog, Compulsion, Inconsistency. Shame cycles... Shame fuels more escape mechanisms. This is the loop. Dopamine promises relief. Discipline produces freedom. “I discipline my body and keep it under control…” — 1 Corinthians-9:27 Paul did not negotiate with his impulses. He mastered them. In the Kingdom, obedience comes first. Reward follows. In the world, reward comes first whilst Obedience fades. Familia - this inversion is killing focus. Dopamine before discipline weakens will. Discipline before dopamine... Strengthens authority. Hebrews-12:11 is not poetic - it is structural: “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness…” Harvest doesn't grow in comfort. It grows in restraint, in discipline. This is not about becoming cold. It is about becoming clear. When discipline governs: Desire aligns Attention sharpens Spirit strengthens Peace increases Choose what is right — not what is easy. Move from impulse to instruction.
