Parenting a severely disabled child is like having a 9/12 month old baby forever. Except this baby gets bigger, heavier, goes through hormonal changes they don’t understand, requires care beyond taking care of a toddler. Making your house accessible to a wheelchair, doctors visits, surgeries, medicine, help, it all costs A LOT of money. Your whole life goes out the window. It’s always about the kid who will never be independent. And don’t forget you keep having to plan what happens after you die and leave them alone on this earth because not everyone has their village and help centers are often abusive. So PLEASE miss me with this ableism talk.
