Ya know what? I’m not done…
Pizza excellence doesn’t come from opening a storefront on Bleeker st. It comes from obsession for the craft. Importing semolina flour from Italy. Studying in great culinary schools. What does an Italian chef do when he falls in love with a farm girl from Indiana? Move to a tiny town in Indiana and bring his obsessive quest for excellence with him. That’s how the best pizza in the world ended up in North Salem Indiana. A farm town of fewer than 50 people.

Not loud…. Not trying to win awards. Just sitting there in Indiana like it doesn’t need your approval.
I told you to go…. and ya didn’t.
That’s fine! Most people don’t the first time. We get comfortable inside our own pattern recognition. We rate places based on info from people who think they know what “good pizza” is because they have had enough versions of it.
Let’s be clear.. iteration can disguise itself… especially when emotion is involved in selection.
This isn’t just an emotional connection..
Because Perillo’s isn’t just better pizza.. it’s the best pizza.

@dupuis_den30908 @stoolpresidente My father in law grew up in North Haven. Much respect to the home of great pizza… I’ve had Zuppardi’s. Truly superb.

@BlakeRiley10 @stoolpresidente I still miss Freddie’s pizza. The joint that was in my hometown as a kid. There’s something about the local flavours. BTW Pepe’s & Sally’s just aren’t the same since the kids took over & franchised. Zuppardi’s in West Haven & Modern in New Haven are both a must try.

I’ve been to Indy and done pizza many times. My experience is Indy is very much not a pizza city. Any places I need to hit this weekend?

Will Campbell is a guard. A good one. The biggest mistake the Patriots can make this offseason is treating him like a starting left tackle.
Honestly I feel the defining part of their season was not realizing this when Lowe replaced him. Sucks.

This guy at my gym pisses me off, loser was always wearing a Buccaneers jacket when Brady left and now all of a sudden he’s wearing his Patriots jacket again.

I have expressed my interest in being a voter for the @ProFootballHOF for years. It's not something I feel I deserve, it's just something that would mean the world to me and I would consider it my highest professional honor to be asked. Perhaps some day. The history of the NFL is something I have always been very passionate about, and I have been blessed to work with some of the greatest people associated with the game. Would have never imagined it 40-plus years ago when I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life.

I appreciate the very kind words. Anyone who really knows me could tell you just how bothered by all of this. Been attending the HOF ceremonies regularly since 1989, lone exceptions being the death of my mother, the impending birth of my child, and COVID. I've already made most of my plans for 2026, Blake

@BaxFootballGuru You’re the most intelligent historian of the game I have ever heard or seen. How does this not rub you the wrong way? The HOF is supposed to be protected from bias like this, but apparently it’s not. They invalidated the process by doing this. Hard to see it any other way.
