BHSU held off a fierce late comeback attempt by UCCS on Thursday night (12/11/25) to get the 97-92 win and remain perfect in RMAC play. One of the reasons BHSU is experiencing early success this season is because they have guys like Blake Volmer, Tristan Hurdle, BJ Woodruff, and Joel Speckman coming off the bench, all of whom are absolutely phenomenal basketball players. For example, against UCCS, Blake Volmer was 4-4 from behind the arc, scoring 13 points off the bench. Equally impressive is that for the season, Blake is 11 for 13 from behind the 3 point line for an 84.6% average! On Thursday, BHSU’s bench contributed 32 points compared to UCCS’ 23 bench points, which was a significant factor in the Yellow Jackets’ huge win.
