@TheRedDragon Nobody was spinning it to Sonys fault. PS Users were talking shit saying it was Xbox’s fault. Most were saying if it is that way then it is on Sony’s side for their policy issues. Trying to slip it now and say we were wrong when we were in a position of defense is bad logic.

MCC, Halo Infinite and Halo CE Remake all have this. That is not the reason you need to pay for another ps plus subscription. You have to pay another one because of Sonys third party linking and cloud saving policies hidden behind a paywall that doesn’t exist on XBOX or PC. Funny that if you flip the situation the second account would be completely free on Xbox but since it’s daddy Sony that is doing it to you you’ll act like a basic internet feature being hidden behind a paywall is somehow the developers fault.

@TheRealJTV4K60 Because every Halo games forces linking to an account because of cross platform connection and cross save. MCC, infinite, CE Remake, etc. but the reason you’re having to make a second ps plus subscription is bc of Sony policy.

3rd time posting this cause the tourists didn’t get the emailer: the PS Plus requirement is getting triggered because Halo is treating the session like online/cross-platform play tied to accounts. Microsoft built the account/cross-progression requirement.

Because XBOX wants every unique player that plays the game to have the ability to have cross progression, cloud save and be counted in the unique player count. That’s their prerogative and has been their model statistic wise for a long time. Doesn’t change the fact that Sonys policies that are outside the norm are what causes the need for a second ps plus account

This is not a take I’m against. If you want to say that Xbox is just fluffing up their unique player count and monthly active users then I don’t disagree but that still is not the reason that a second account needs ps plus. The second account needs ps plus because Sony is the only platform that hides third party linking and cloud save behind a paid subscription wall. There is zero doubt about that.

Ot on me but this issue where PS users need to have two subs to split screen is wholly on Sonys policies being hidden behind a paid subscription wall due to third party linking and cloud save. Do your research before you tell me I’m a tourist.

If this exact scenario was in reverse Xbox users would have no issue and would not need another gamepass sub for the second account. This is actually a great opportunity for PS users to hold Sony accountable and create change for those cash grab policies.
