@Blank_avi @hdpayens @taco_talks Jesus DID SAY to Peter “that which you keep on earth shall be kept in heaven & that which you loose on earth shall be looseth in heaven” …Peter performed on Sunday therefore HIS Church, the Catholic Church had made the day of recognition Sunday.

@BillieCotter @hdpayens @taco_talks What I meant was, Jesus didn’t explicitly change the Sabbath day. My fault in wording, was in a rush to drive. Jesus is believed to have held the last supper on Thursday, and the whole do as oft in remembrance, but he didn’t explicitly say Sunday is replacement.

@Blank_avi @hdpayens @taco_talks What? It wasn’t taught by Jesus nor the disciples. It is what they did! That is a lesson in and of itself. It’s a way to follow them in their own actions. They gave the Eucharist on Sundays, St. Peter, first pope of the Catholic Church “kept on earth” the tradition

@BillieCotter @hdpayens @taco_talks The sabbath was held for centuries before the change. It is from the start of creation. It is not limited to the Jews.

@Blank_avi @hdpayens @taco_talks Do you know why? Jews, Jesus’ disciples, held the sabbath as their fasting and time for “no work” so they went out and started preaching Christianity on Sunday.

@darlingstrawbie If I recall first there was the schism, then later the Protestant Reformation. Some doubt the Catechism. A less common contention, the change of the day of worship under Constantine, though no explicit biblical justification. There are also far wilder things people claim.

i told my mom i was attending Catholic mass recently and she got kinda upset and basically asked me if i still believe in Jesus, amongst other things i think many are not necessarily “unhappy” but moreso brainwashed into believing Catholicism is a cult and not also Christianity
