Want to map #SQL struct or #JSON in your #Hibernate model? Version 6.2 is around the corner and will add first class support for "composite aggregate mappings" that allow to map embeddables to these SQL types! Check out the blog post about this: in.relation.to/2023/02/13/hib…

If you're using table partitioning in #SQL with Hibernate, then you will love the new partition key mapping feature of #Hibernate 6.2. Update/Delete statements now also filter by partition keys, so that the query planner can do partition pruning early! in.relation.to/2023/02/20/hib…

@890691905140v @peterbean410 @GetMapStruct @AdamBien If fact, DTO is the way to declare what fields to transfer over the border and that's it. It is totally required to control data output, so adding a new field in an Entity will not hit the data you expose. You can use @SpringData Projections, @Blazebit persistence, or smth else.

Spring Boot Tip 💡 If you use DTOs with Spring Data/JPA you can automate the mapping between entities and DTOs using the Blaze Persistence (persistence.blazebit.com) library. Then you may still take advantage of e.g. the Spring repository pattern. 🏷️ #springboot #java #jpa

The first CR of Hibernate 6.2 went out last night, and it’s a pretty huge release, so let me give you a rundown of what’s new. The release announcement doesn't do it justice at all. in.relation.to/2022/12/22/orm…

DTO is probably the most straightforward pattern in OOP. What could be the motives for using DTOs in our apps? How to create them properly? Is @SpringData #JPA projection a proper DTO? We’ll try to answer all these questions in the new @JPABuddy article: jpa-buddy.com/blog/entity-to….
