One of the hardest truths no one really talks about is how quickly life can change, no matter how hard you work. How real life can affect wrestling life. How sometimes you just need to separate the two. Back in January, I was furloughed without pay. That furlough got extended twice, and yesterday I officially received the letter that by the end of May, my employment is over. No return. No bringing us back. Me, along with several hundred other employees. What makes it even harder is knowing the work I put in. I was one of the company’s top earners, helped save the company thousands, and I wasn’t even in a sales role. That says a lot about the effort and dedication I gave. The job hunt has honestly been discouraging. Every time you think you finally caught a break, another AI-generated rejection email shows up in your inbox from numerous employers. Positions I’m more than qualified for, and still nothing. It’s exhausting. A lot of people assume wrestling pays the bills. The reality is, it doesn’t. Wrestling has always been my passion and my dream, but it’s never been the backup plan. That’s why I’m still in college, still pushing forward with my education, and still building my Plan B. I’ve got about two years left, hopefully less if I can accelerate courses. I’m sharing this because I’m human too. Social media only shows pieces of people’s lives, and sometimes things are not what they seem behind the scenes. To everyone struggling right now, trying to stay motivated, trying to keep going when life keeps hitting you back to back, you’re not alone. To everyone making a living doing what they love, don’t take it for granted. My dream job of being a professional wrestler is now becoming harder and harder everyday. The amount of my savings I’ve spent on airfare, hotels, gas, tolls and gear and still feeling like I have nothing is a scary feeling. And if anyone wants to support, my 8x10s and merch are always available.. ❤️
