Rush Hour remains my favorite kid game for the way it thwarts attempts to get closer to your goal in the most obvious ways.

Just finished reading The Revenge of Power, and I now have a much better understanding of how Trump's rise to power was just one example of how autocratic leaders are all using the same playbook. h/t @pescami amazon.com/Revenge-Power-…

Just finished reading "Watergate: A New History," by Garrett Graff, and it was outstanding. My only previous source of info on it was "All the President's Men," and this adds a lot of great perspective. h/t @pescami amazon.com/Watergate-Hist…

@bledsoe @LCBledsoe You two may also enjoy “A First-Rate Madness.” It’s non-fiction, which I usually prefer. Lindsay/Lance/Lisa book club? 📚 💃🏻

“Across the sea, fat kings watched and were gleeful that something begun so well had now gone off the rails, and if it went off the rails, so went the whole kit, forever. And if someone ever thought to start it up again, well, it would be said: the rabble cannot manage itself.”

@CmonMattTHINK Is it the same as why it's still useful to memorize times tables even though we have calculators? Because it's useful to be able to bring certain facts immediately into your brain (and even calculators/computers are too slow for that)?

Sketching trig graphs by hand. Why do we still do it, when Desmos exists? Genuine question. Not saying we shouldn’t.

I recently finished reading "Infinite Powers: How Calculus Reveals the Secrets of the Universe," by Steven Strogatz. It's really good and I highly recommend it, even if you're not a mathy type. amazon.com/Infinite-Power…

@kennycmckee I'm reading Infinite Powers, by Steven Strogatz. The subtitle is "How Calculus Reveals the Secrets of the Universe." Really well-written, and remarkably accessible, even for non-math folks.
