@TheFieldOf68 As I write, Arizona is the #2 most popular team to win the NCAA championship out of all brackets submitted thus far. And none of their players are on any of these teams??? Clearly WINNING doesn’t matter to the AP as much as player promotion efforts do. Sad.

@mdnlabs @vercel If my typical pricing is $10 a month and I charge $100 a year and then you cancel with 2 months left. I'd probably also have a cancellation fee to recoup the discounts you were given by signing up for a year, but not actually fulfilling the year contract.

@mdnlabs @vercel It's pretty lame for a company of that size. But as you can read, they signed a 1 year contract and are cancelling prior to it's end. Most companies discount monthly price of their software significantly for people who do a 1 year. So gotta recoup the discounts somehow.

Charging money to CANCEL a subscription is the darkest thing digital software can do. Every other platform gives you access for the rest of the period OR prorates you (e.g. @vercel)

@MaiYangAI Money wasn’t a problem and I switched to Claude code from cursor after 5 months using it. Night and day difference in quality.

if price wasn’t a factor, most devs would be on Cursor. Do you agree?

Claude outage makes me wonder if it’s worth the $20 extra each month to have Cursor in reserve for when there are Claude outages…. 🤔

Claude auth having issues this morning. Claude Code triggers login screen. Login screen hangs for ~20 seconds. Problem is, Claude Code has a 15 second time-out for waiting on auth. So by the time the success message comes through, claude code ignores it due to timeout. Lovely.

Hopefully keita is okay. Curious to see if the court had anything to do with it…

@Shpigford It’s bad. Thankfully I’ve had my developer account active for years. I’ve got friends who have been trying to make developer accounts for months and still are unable to get through.

well, i got a *tad* further this time (it actually accepted the email address i put in). then just flat out rejected once i verified a phone number. i've been using the internet since the 90's...how does anyone with less familiarity ever successfully use anything?

@HarryStebbings I used cursor daily for the past 6 months (ending 1 month ago). Made the switch to Claude code last month and will never go back. The difference in quality is super apparent. Numbers may say they’re fine. But I suspect they’re about to be in trouble.

Why it is total BS that Cursor is "dying"? " I just look at the numbers. 2x more people using agents in cursor than using the TAB feature. 90% of cursor users are daily active users of the agent product. The agent product grew 15 x last year. If you were to tell me @BYUMBB would: -beat TWO top 10 teams this year (Iowa St, Texas Tech) -lose to two others by a combined 5 points (UConn, Arizona) -and yet still be unranked and have a terrible season I would not believe you. What a weird year.

@arvidkahl I sure hope he wasn't using that in prod. Anyone who uses that on production is just an idiot. I don't care about their experience or how much of an expert they are.

Unless you're Pieter Levels, do NOT RUN CLAUDE on your production system or infrastructure. It's a very charismatic toddler when it comes to understanding business consequences. It WILL do something completely disastrous eventually. Human in the loop for all infra work. ALWAYS.

first pass at an update. still mostly effectively "hourly", but more stable for everyone. so far the stuff i've been doing is VERY open-ended/exploratory...basically impossible to nail down scope to give a fixed project price anyways.

i'm basically completely booked up for the next 4-6 weeks already but realizing i don't love doing project-based billing. i kinda just want too say, "here's what i charge per hour. yes, it's a lot, but i guarantee every hour will be as productive as 10 humans. let's work."

I've been meaning to fully switch over to Claude Code from Cursor for some time. This past week, it feels like the Cursor models have regressed and it's a much worse experience than it used to be. Likely will switch this week.
