@VikDeth502 @nhlpens Even if that’s true, the Crosby era has had more success and more championships than many franchisees have in their entire history. Whatever mediocrity awaits as a result has been and will be well worth it, not to mention something any team would wish for.

100% true.
Starting 8-2-2 made them use more safe veterans instead of letting rookies err as they learn. It’s not about “chances to take a spot,” it’s about just playing kids.
Murashov’s NHL stats were the best of the Penguins’ goalies.

@MarkMaddenX That’s just not true, Super. They abandoned load management for 81. They gave Koivunen and McGroarty plenty of chances to take a spot and they didn’t. That’s not on the Penguins. A Hayes showed a flash but played himself out of the lineup. Even Murashov didn’t look quite ready.

Every good thing the Penguins did in the first 10 minutes they stopped doing after the first 10 minutes. The past 20 minutes have been Games 1 and 2 all over again. They can not help themselves.

I’ve seen Pens fans basically call Kunitz, Dupuis, Guerin, Rust, and even Guentzel bums who only had good stats because they played with Crosby to try and act like the Penguins haven’t had deeper teams the majority of the time.

The one stat people refuse to mention when comparing Crosby and Ovechkin. One guy has been sheltered with an elite team for most of his career while one guy hasn’t

Letang’s refusal to adjust his game is baffling.
After his terrible 2018 he was asked if he would change his game.
He was pissed that someone would suggest he ever adapt his game.
His refusal to adapt as he ages is a sore thumb that sticks out more with every day that passes.

Karlsson was magnificent again. Wotherspoon was fine. The rest of the blue line really struggled tonight, notably Letang. He just didn't process information with the puck on his blade. Was consistently a step slow and made the wrong reads all night. His play is a huge concern.

@math_pitt @MarkMaddenX It’s just not that deep. For 21 years, Sid’s given everything he has to the team/city we love. He’s largely responsible for some of the greatest moments + memories in pens history. I’d rather him win than a bunch of guys on other teams who hapoen to be born 300 miles south of him
