The current plan is for the #Seahawks to open the season on Wednesday, Sept. 9, rather than the traditional Thursday opener, per @JBFlint of @WSJ. The Rams–49ers game from Melbourne, Australia would then take place the next day on Thursday.

At the 91st annual Sports Star of the Year Awards in downtown Seattle, Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba was named male sports star of the year.
Mario Bailey, the UW great who now works for the Seahawks, accepted the award on JSN’s behalf and called him “the ultimate teammate.”
