Hjalstaviken, Sweden. A wonderful night last Saturday, successfully managing to sound record Great Snipe in display. Two birds began to display as the sun dipped behind the horizon, giving my best ever views of the species….

Not done with Black-throated Divers yet and still after that elusive recording of multiple birds displaying. There are six present on this lake though, so passive recorders are going down. There are worse places to spend time than Swedish freshwater lakes.

Green Sandpipers in full display at a European Beaver wetland inside the forest at Tyresta National Park. A remarkable sound a sight. The third pair I have found this year and all are on sites created by this most remarkable mammal.
