I chose to believe him. Some people will say I was naïve, while others will say I was the villain in the story, but that was the decision I made. At first, everything was very discreet. We saw each other once or twice a week, went out for meals or took walks, and everyone simply carried on with their lives. But a few months ago, his wife found out about the relationship, and ever since then, my life has become a living nightmare. Yesterday around 7 p.m., I was at home when it suddenly started raining. Unfortunately, my landlord wasn't around. His 24-year-old daughter had come to visit, and she was wearing revealing clothes. As the rain got heavier, she knocked on my door. I opened it, and she asked if she could come inside. I politely declined. Instead, I brought out a chair and placed it under the shelter in front of my door for her to sit while waiting for the rain to ease. The other two neighbors were not home either, so she ended up getting soaked by the rain. This morning, she and her parents started insulting me, calling me a wicked person. Honestly, if I hadn't been alone, I would have let her in without hesitation. But as a man alone in my apartment, I wasn't willing to put myself in a situation that could easily be misunderstood or lead to false accusations.
