@r1medi City have conceded 6 goals in 8 games so far. That’s 0.75 goals per game. At this rate, in 38 games, they’d concede roughly 29 goals.
Chelsea’s record in 2004/05 is *15* goals in 38 games.
So, dream on . . .

Chelsea FC is enormously saddened by the huge loss of life following last weekend’s attacks on Israel. We stand with the Jewish community in London and around the world in the face of the rising tide of antisemitism, which we have long campaigned against.
We will join with our fellow Premier League clubs in remembering all the innocent lives lost in Israel and Gaza in recent days at Stamford Bridge when we play Arsenal.

Antonio Rüdiger: "Where I come from, pressure is not about football.
Pressure is not knowing what you will eat tomorrow.
I mean …….. Pressure??? No, no, no.
Every time I feel the slightest pressure when I lace up my boots before a football match, I think about a specific memory, and I am instantly at peace.
The first time I ever went back to Sierra Leone with my parents after the civil war, we were riding in a taxi from the airport, and we got stuck in traffic. We were sitting there, not moving, and I was looking out the window at all the poverty and hunger. All these men and women were selling fruits and water and clothes and things by the side of the road to the people coming from the airport.
And that’s the moment when I understood why my parents would never call our neighborhood in Berlin “the ghetto.”
They would always say that it was heaven on earth. And it wasn’t until I went to Sierra Leone that I finally understood their perspective, because this guy came up to our car selling bread, and he looked really desperate. We said, “No, no. We’re O.K.”
Then another guy came up to our car selling bread, and he tried to sell it to us even harder. He was talking about how fresh it was.
“No, no. Thank you.”
Then a third guy came up to our car selling bread, and he was really hustling. He was talking about how this was the best bread in the city, and to please, please, please buy the bread from him.
I think about this memory when I start to feel any pressure from football. Because the truth is that all three of those guys were selling the exact same bread, from the exact same bakery, to the exact same cars.
One of those families would have a plate of food on the table.
The other two, maybe not.
That is pressure. That is real life.'"

@nocontextfm1 Chelsea - “Where is the challenge”? Ask the 20 managers that got sacked in the last 20 years. If you want a challenge as a football manager, you can’t look beyond Chelsea.
English

Thread of clubs you should NOT manage in Football Manager 2024:
1) PSG - do I need to say why? Stealer of wonderkids, already far too good for their league. It's like cheering on Thanos in Avengers: Endgame
2) Getafe - the club decided to employ Mason Greenwood
3) Manchester United - the club is CURSED. Just don't do it. Not only are they a disgraceful institution irl. They are also impossible to be successful with in the game (from my one attempt). Also they had a big naming dispute with SI - so they're no friend of the Football Manager community
4) MK Dons - there's a reason they are known as "Franchise FC" and Milton Keynes is basically a big car park
5) Chelsea - where is the challenge?! If you don't win the title, you'll be given 300 million to spend the next year! In real life, it's a poisoned chalice. Give me a billion in the game and I could create the greatest team the world has ever seen
6) Athletic Bilbao - this one is going to be very controversial. And I might have actually put them on a list of clubs TO manage in FM 24. But do you really hate yourself that much?! Not being able to buy Brazilian wonderkids. Having to check regional birth rates each year.
7) Real Madrid - what can you possibly achieve at Real Madrid that they haven't already achieved? They three-peated the Champions League. They have a midfield of Bellingham, Camavinga and Tchouameni. They have already completed the game.
8) Wrexham - for once in your life, be original. You will be the 36789567th person to have done this save (in all seriousness I will be attending a Wrexham game on Saturday, if you're reading this Ryan Reynolds and want an autograph)
9) Red Bull Salzburg - this club is the propaganda arm of an energy drink company. They are a disgrace and the reason I had sleepless nights on Football Manager 2023
10) Manchester City - it's like playing FIFA on amateur, playing COD against bots, beating somewhere from the USA in GeoGuessr
11) The New Saints (TNS) - they are basically the PSG of the Welsh league. It should be your mission to dethrone them at all costs
12) Lazio - i'm not going to get into this one too much. But some of their fanbase is seriously fascist
13) Burnley - "When people ask if I like football I say “Yes, I do like football. But not Burnley. Burnley can fuck off”
14) Newcastle - Once again, I have definitely included these guys in a thread of clubs you should manage. But thinking about it, these guys are going to be like Manchester City in 10 years. Do you want to look at your saves from previous Football Manager with disgust?

@ESPNUK @Marcotti @LaurensJulien Julien doesn’t seem to know what ‘prime’ means. If he did, he wouldn’t keep talking about numbers and consistency. Prime means, pick any date and get that player’s version on that date and compare. Prime Salah was dangerous but Prime Hazard was just unplayable.
English

For someone as brilliant as Eden Hazard on the pitch, it’s his off-pitch persona that makes him darling of the fans. The guy was very genuine, very positive, always smiling and laughing, jovial and pranky. The injuries and consequent absences at Real Madrid showed us the Eden who’d slowly stopped smiling as much as he was and you could even see the sadness in his eyes.
Now that he’s retired, hoping to see that Hazard that was at Chelsea - chirpy, bubbly, playful. Happy Hazard is the best Hazard.
English

Chelsea should have won more trophies during the Hazard years. His seven seasons were also probably the most turbulent times in terms of managerial changes. If I’m right, Hazard has played under Di Matteo, Benitez, Mourinho, Guus Hiddink, Antonio Conte, Sarri in those seven years. With just a little more stability, we perhaps could have.
That Hazard didn’t get to win the Champions League with Chelsea would always be a disappointment for me. Glad that he could fulfill his dream of playing for Real Madrid and finally lay his hands on the UCL trophy.

Heartfelt thanks and best wishes to @hazardeden10. What a legend. Privileged to have watched him live and have experienced his magic. No one has thrilled and excited me on the pitch like Eden did. Really hope he is involved with @ChelseaFC in some shape or form in the future.

Contrasting second half with some smart performances from Chelsea especially from Sterling, Palmer and Cucurella.
So that’s three back to back wins. And a win with a scoreline of 4-1 is always good for the confidence. But let’s remember that our best performances in the premier league have come against teams that are now 17th and 18th in the premier league.
The month after the international break will be quite defining for this young Chelsea squad. Also, important to note that some injured players such as James and Carney may become available for this tricky period. While those are some tough fixtures, also remember that our struggles have mostly come from low block teams while next half a dozen opponents or so won’t be playing low block. I’d say I’m quietly confident that we will get a ‘decent return’ from next 8 games.
