Coaches pay attention to the competition you play against. They’re thinking: Are you good because you’re good, or because the competition is bad? You have to ask yourself if you want to show out easier against smaller and slower players or if you want to challenge yourself.

Recruits, treat every interaction you have with a coach as if you’re talking to a thousand coaches. They all know each other, and they let each other know who seems polite and courteous…and who is not.

“Dead period” does not really mean everyone takes a break from recruiting. Coaches are building their boards. Scouts are filling out reports. And you should be grinding on the practice field making sure you’re ready for when the dead period is over.

It is not over for you 2027 recruits. But you should begin moving with more urgency.

When talking to a coach, be careful about how you market yourself. Coaches don’t want to hear about your style of play. They want to hear about how your style of play can help their offense or defense.

There are 2 things that you need to make sure look good if you want to be recruited. 1. Your film (obviously) 2. Your Twitter/X profile This platform is where 90% of recruiting is done. Update your profile with camps, offers, highlights, and measurables often.
