The chough is the national bird of Cornwall but by the time I was born they were extinct in the duchy. In 2001 three choughs returned to Cornwall. As a proud Cornishman words cannot describe how happy I was to see four choughs on my local cliffs at the weekend. Kernow Bys Vyken!

Me and Mr Flash went for a hike in the forest above Corris, Snowdonia. After working up an appetite or two we are now in search of a cafe...but in Wales they don't like to open before 10am. I shall be writing a fierce letter to the Welsh minister of breakfasts...

Bold and dramatic, the July-flowering acanthus has inspired architects and artists for centuries. While ‘bear’s breeches’ can be found dotted around the gardens we care for, its ornamental spikes have taken root behind closed doors too.

We have visitors from all over the country & as cases are still rising everywhere including Cornwall we will be KEEPING IN PLACE our basic Covid restrictions. It’s for our sake as owners & site helpers, as much as for the sake of ALL our guests. Please respect our decision.

Allen Main @watersidedorset ‘Caravan parks are the safest place to be by the very nature of a holiday home that is for a family unit – each holiday homes is spaced 6 metres apart so there isn't a safer place to come and be. If anything one could argue that we could open sooner.’
