@antroboh1 Can we talk about how even at her angriest, Kagami used her winds to GENTLY lower her mother? She could've caused a hurricane to discombobulate her, make Tomoe feel truly helpless & uncertain but she DIDN'T. Kagami is still choosing connection over severance.

Miraculous doesn’t get enough credit for how it manages real world issues. Watching Tomoe try to hold Kagami's education over her head to keep her under control is such a powerful and heartbreaking portrayal of family manipulation. #mlbs6spoilers.

@Vittorio_Nora Where he & Vash could simply exist, only for him to be perpetually alone while surrounded by remnants of his brother. It's like ascending to godhood, but while everyone sees the concept, Nai alone is cursed with the knowledge of WHO Vash once was.....(2/?)

I find it really poetic and tragic, the possibility that Vash will create the Paradise for Nai that he wanted to create for him...Now every flower and blade of grass will remind Nai of Vash and his love, unfortunately, for everyone, not just for him.

@spaceysheeps You could argue that she's a literal representation of how like Nai himself, both of them are stunted. They don't want change bcz they associate it with horror, unfamiliarity, rejection, etc. They either confront it with violence or avoid it altogether.

Elendira being a child (seemingly for a long time) represents her clinging to the idea that she is Knives's family. She can't grow up because she can't accept the truth. Maybe we'll see that change in the final episode.

@museqmeg Right? I'm so annoyed that whenever a female character shows care for a kid, she's immediately labelled 'motherly', like NO. THAT'S LITERALLY BASIC DECENCY! IT'S COMPASSION! Which is an integral part of Meryl's character: being both witness & bridge.

It is frustrating to have Vash's subversion of masulinity valorized while condemning Meryl for exhibiting the same compassion. The subversion exists to point out that it isn't gendered. It's that we're all human beings that should strive to show compassion towards each other.

Saying this as a 36-year-old woman currently struggling with my choice to be childfree or a mother: Calling how Meryl was written misogynistic is inherently moreso than how someone perceived the direction of a fictional show. Emotional labor also isn't inherently bad when a person chooses to extend it. As a parentifed eldest daughter that was forced to extend emotional labor in an abusive household to keep the peace, there is agency or lack thereof to consider. The depictions in Stampgaze are both choices born from independence. Men and women can both extend that compassion without labeling it as misogyny or misandry.
