In the VN it’s clear, Saber doesn’t regret her life, doesn’t regret her kingship. The closest she can relate that feeling is the scene of mountain of corpses, the end of Britain. But does she really regret that? We see later in the basement scene she goes "nah"

@LaraPlap You should phrase it more carefully because people are blaming Nasu. Nasu was not the main push behind this, Aniplex was. After Aniplex pushed for UBW, Nasu went "okay makes sense since I'd need to rearrange it now on 2014" deal as usual. That's what Morikai and TM Ace 10 says

According to Morikai who cites Type Moon Ace Volume 10, Type Moon president Takeuchi wanted ufotable to do a Fate Route adaptation instead of UBW, Aniplex and Nasu however, pushed for UBW saying it was significant for the time. The Fate route adaptation at that point had already advanced to the stage where scripts for several episodes were in final draft, this sudden change caused a big uproar inside ufotable. The reason Nasu and Aniplex pushed for UBW instead of fate was that they specifically wanted UBW as a full length TV series, UBW was the perfect route to animate right after Fate/Zero, and according to Nasu, since Fate/Zero revealed so much, the Fate route could no longer be adapted as is

Good to see him pointing this out. This was clearly stated in the Visual Novel, written very very clearly by Nasu. And interpreted same by anyone reading in either English translated or in original Japanese.

So basically when it comes to regret, Saber doesn’t really regret her life or the path she walked on, what she might regret is the sight of devastated Britain, wishing it might not turn this way. But since she doesn’t regret her life or kingship, she could get over this trauma.
